I really hate this trunklid ...it stopped being fun a long time ago lol! But its more or less done a couple of pinholes appeared on the outside near the bottom so I have a bit more welding to do on it  then all the mudwork and fine tuning the fit but thats a ways down the road yet ...

I am sure I have more time in this trunklid and its opening than I do the chop!!

At the end of last sunday I rolled it outside and set the clip in place for some inspiration :D

And last night and todays job was trying to make it presentable , get the front clip, rear fenders and trunklid on ...decided to re-do the bottom of the p*** rear fender and clean up the fit of the former tailight area while I was at it . The front clip is only bolted at the cowl , I trimmed the inner fenders abit and the front of the frame, but havent built any of the support structure yet

After about another 6hrs of work today it was time to see it outside ! I just wish it was lowered already but hey I am pretty happy to see it like this !

The hood i just one of the spares I had closest to the front door of the shop and didnt have any hinges that needed to be removed ...I have 2 good ones , I am gonna louver one of them at the show this weekend , and the other will be just shaved, I may run one or the other or both , depends how the look.

Hey, KoolKemp, that's one fine looking hood you got there. Will see you at the show on Sunday , if the "Black Pearl" can make it that far . She's a rough old girl , but I think she'll fit in OK. Bringing GizmoeJoe and Paul with me, and maybe Bud , if he can get up that early.
Your car is looking good, keep it up :)

Personally I did not care much for the 4x4 stance... perhaps others think different...
but I just had to lower it :)

And I'm not a big fan of the teardrop skirts on this car. Yes it flows nice with the top, but not with the fender to which it is mounted.
Here is another type of skirt ('41 - '48 Ford type)

Thanks Rikster I was kinda hoping you would "take care " of the al***ude ;)
Would you be able to email or just post a high res copy of the pics with hte correct stance , so I could print them and have them up in the shop for inspiration ?
The skirts are what I have in stock...I will make my own in the style of the originals but most likely flush fitting . Paul Bragg sent me one of his how to videos of him making a set of flush fitting ones ! He liked my determination
( lack of sanity?) after he looked through the thread , thanks again Paul !!

Man looking good!!! Great photoshop Rik it changes the look of the car completely. It sure is cool to see some threads on customs again the last couple of days. It was getting a little dry there for a while.

At first I was intrigued, then inspired, now I'm just fascinated at the whole chain of events that led up to this current incarnation.

Makes me want to do one of two things.

One, go cut my car apart so I feel like I worked extra hard on it so I don't feel so lazy.

Two, go get another car and make a big mess again.

Three, just watch your progress and when your's is done I will wish mined turned out so nice, but I know I am too lazy to finish it.............LOL.

    Steve,
Bellow is as large as I have it. I just downloaded the photo you posted on here and did a quick Photoshop to get a better feel for the overall look.

    That´s so cool.
I guess it´ll be getting some bumpers - the *** end of these things always look ENORMOUS without a bumper.

Yep I have a set of 49 Plymouth bumpers and guards for it ...depending how they fit I may make my own splash pans to go between the bumper and the body...

Thanks man ! I know the thread has gotten kinda long but everyone , including me seems to be enjoying it. As I have mentioned elsewhere , the great feedback is very motivating for me ...beside some guys get right grumpy if they have to wait too long for an update :D

Thanks lifestylz ! I am really happy with the overall shape, I cant wait to get the ch***is lowered so I can see it in real time, but that wont be till the winter, I gotta get as much body work done as I can before it gets too cold , I cant get the shop warm enough to do any when its winter, hopefully next summer I will get all the insulation and wiring done ...I might if I were to stop working on the car for a while

  30. I know the feeling regarding the cold.
We are just coming out of a horrible wet cold winter here in New Zealand.
Looking forward to a heap of progress on my Lincoln over the next few months.. :D
