Thanks ...wait till you see what I am gonna try and build a 36 Ford from in a couple of years

    Thanks Jim !

I gotta be in the mood for mud work...once I get started on it I dont mind, its the thought of getting started on it thats the problem lol!

    Thanks !

Thanks Andy...dont give them too much beer till after the top is all tacked on ! As I metioned I would love to be there to help, but I guess lots of pics will have to do :)

Thanks Doug...I havent forgotten about getting some measurements for the front trim...well I have forgotton while I was in the shop, but always remember at work like I am now :D

Thanks Ricky ! I am hoping to drive it to Ont for holidays in a couple of years and visit some of you guys!

The hardest time for me to work on it is during the week...if its been a long day at work and I am really sore its hard to get motivated to head out ...but the more I get done the more motivation I seem to get lol...plus all the positive feedback from you guys is a great motivator! I have some acces. motorcycle lights that are gonna bolt to the guards....that will probably be temp, I just love the look of those Merc lenses down low

Thanks!I would settle for primer in the driveway for now !

Thanks Rikster! You have been a huge influence on the build...and you still have me feeling guilty about leaving the 59 dash in place ! I am hoping to have the roof quarters and trunklid in primer by the end of the month, then get the doors off for final metal work and blasting...not much filler work needed on them!

    Thanks eh!!

You're Insane. Nice work. Creative is putting it way too lightly. Good luck on the final stretch!

Been watching since you started, Steve. Can't help it...the damned thread won't stay off the first page...lol.

No kidding around...this build is epic. So much you've done. You're a young guy. In years to come, when you reminisce, this'll stand out. Shoot, it'll be remembered by many.

And best of all...when you get done, it's gonna look gooooooooood!!!

I often wonder about my sanity ....I think doing stuff like this is what keeps me somewhat sane  .Keep checking back to check the progress...of lack of!

Thanks Ricky, especially for calling me a young guy lol...gonna be 47 next moth , even though I feel 77 most of the time. I wish the tools and knowledge base for this hobby at it current levels and easy availability had been around when I was in my early 20's....might have stayed out of trouble and had a much more interesting career lol! My dream would be to someday be able to take Rusty for a long cruise into the US ,that would be a few yrs away but its a nice dream anyways !

  15. Hey don't discount those dreams, that's what keeps us going at times. :)

I have a similar dream for when I finish my Ranchero and that is to drive it to Bonneville one of these years and various other places in the country. Keep plugging away at it koolkemp and your dream will become a reality before you know it!!

Don't tell the border patrol it's a 4dr or you will end up with a pile of parts all over again. :)

  18. Turn that dream into a goal...
I've never finished anything until I set a time to finish... I.e., a show, rod run or a race.

Oh!...lol! For some reason, I got the idea you're in your 20s or so. Must be your "youthful" demeanor...lol. Oh well, I'll be 55 this spring, so I guess I can call you young.

Still holds true though. When you put so much of yourself into something such as this, I think it's a source of pride later on, when you maybe can't do quite as much as you used to. Something to brag about. And it sounds like you're planning on probably keeping Rusty Resurection for quite a while. So when you're still drivin' 'er around in say...2040 ...it'll truly be your personal bad-assed time-machine!

    Later...........KID!

Its ok I the title now says 2 door :D I spent the weekend working on it...nothing too exciting though, got the trunk lid and pass quarter just about ready for the first round of primer another evening or 2 and they can be sprayed.I also got the pass door removed, finished all the welding and took the 3M strip wheel to the paint in the jam area .The sill area is ready for primer now too, the primer has to go on this weekend ,before it starts to rust ! I took a few pics but havent downloaded them from the camera yet.

Thanks eh! I wish I could find a real Chiropractor ,I miss the guy that I used to see when we lived in Ont. I saw one here in town for awhile but she did nothing to help...probably made it worse if anything...

Just found this thread - amazing dedication, hats off to you.
    1. For your back, look for "The Bad Back Book" by Jerry Wayne - just 95 pages, from 1972, has some good exercises for various back problems. Should be cheap online since it's been published for decades.
    2. Does the rear bumper stick out too far? I was worried about the front bumper too a little, (but less than the rear) but it looks okay now that the grill is on. I'd think you should look at both bumper spacings - tight to the body is not good (you want the bumper to be able to bump something and save your paint) but closer I think helps with the flow. Might be just me.

man if only fitz had the energy you have, he would probly have the roof chopped on the fleet line. Great job on the grill!
