Very cool. I like that body cut at the firewall where it meets the frame.

I'm sure he'll chime in , but my guess would be to try to keep the phone-gabbing , SUV-driving soccer mom and/or texting teenager from rear-ending his pride & joy , lol !!

Fanatastic build - maybe you could put it on a DVD with some notes and voice over and sell it! ;)

Not sure if anyone asked - and maybe it's obvious, but why is the driveshaft loop off-center?

    Thanks!
Because the rear-end third member is not centered on the axle...

Something I've been putting off is mounting the radiator... I wanted the top of the radiator to be level with the top of the cowl but it only gave me 2" of ground clearance. So I moved it up. It looks good from the front because the carbs hide the height. Not so great from the side, but i dont want to rip my radiator to hell going over a bump. I settled for 5" of clearance.

Im just mocking this all up and trying to work out some issues, that's why I didnt air up the tire. The issue im running into is the bottom radiator hose to the water pump. The axle and the crossmember is in the way.

So my buddy came up with the idea of cutting it off and moving it up... Watch and see.

Time to get some aluminum and bust out the new part. But I still need to figure out how to mount the radiator, so i think a couple simple L shaped brackets will work. Not much work today, but lots of issues solved. Thanks "J" buddy.

I wonder if I could hide the bracket between the fan shroud and the grill. Have to think about that one.

Great build with a lot of great pics and detail. This was a well documented build and I appreciate it as I am in the same process with a 28 sedan.

Can I ask, what was such a PITA with the lake style headers?

    Thanks, Grant
