A little more progress. Have both tail lights on fuel lines back on gas tank in and windshield posts back on.

Not a whole lot. Everything has been an absolute bitch putting back together.

 

Man, that little car is looking good!

 

Very slow progress on the roadster. I have the harness in and I hate wiring! Tail, brake, electric fuel pump and fuel sender wires are pulled to the back. Gauges are wired up. And I have one door hung.

 

Been really slow on posting progress but progress has been slow. I have most of the wiring done, steering column in all fuel lines done and a few other things tied up.

A bit more progress to report. I got the other door hung,swinging and latching. Mill a few little aluminum pieces to hold the end of the hood welting and I mounted my blinker switch under the seat. It comes out the seat riser between my legs. I milled up an escutcheon to cover up my shity slotted hole I cut in the riser. Also did a little adjusting on the drivers side exhaust pipe. Waiting for a little help from a fellow hotrodder to finish up the wiring. Windshield frame goes for glass next Tuesday so it’s getting closer and closer.

 

Needs a pair of Smithy’s. Hehe.

Wiring is almost done just a few little things to fix, most likely ground issues. I have to floor back in and the gas tank cover on. I’m so damn close to getting it fired. Body man hit my ceramic coated header when he was doing body work with his DA so the only thing that is holding us up is getting the header back from the ceramic coater.

 

I went to my local Napa to get a speedometer cable but it was so damn stiff I couldn’t fish it thru the area I needed to get to the transmission. I called Rusty at speedometer service co. he made me a cable that is so small and flexible, it snaked around the pedals under the frame so easily. If anyone out there needs a speedo cable give him a call, super friendly, prompt service and a quality product.
After I installed the cable I needed a way to keep it on the firewall so I milled up this little bracket.

 

Windshield is in, got a call from the upholstery shop and it heads that way in 3 weeks!!! Hell yeah!
I just mailed in our registration for the grand national roadster show hopefully we get accepted and then the end of January we make the 1800 mile drive from South Dakota to Pomona!

 

looks great, might have to find a way to hide in your luggage.

 

I got the header back from the ceramic coater today. Body guy had hit it with his sander and screwed up the ceramic finish. Now we are really close to first fire up.

T minus 24 hours. The count down to the first fire up/breaking in has started. I have my old high school mechanics teacher, a good friend who was a mechanic his entire life my pops, son and a few friends coming up to witness the spark to be put to this 296 cubic inch FLATHEAD!
