rusty windshield frame

    whats the best way to de-rust an "a" windshield frame?:confused:

    How about making you a mixture of mol***es and water and soak it in it? The stuff does wonders but its slow. Search for the thread detailing it. You can also soak it in white vinegar but that much vinegar might be expensive since its a food product.

    Yeah, vinegar is a good choice. The are a number of threads on this...search with the key word "vinegar." You really won't need that much if you make a custom pan to soak it in. You could make a 2 X 4 frame & line it with plastic & submerge the windshield frame in it for a couple of days or three. When all of the rust is gone & the thing is down to bare metal, remove it, rinse it off with water, dry it thoroughly & prime it right away to prevent flash rusting.
