Oh hell the shit talking begins! Well, I'm glad you've got it ready! Just be sure you got all of them 400 inches pulling their weight, cause you got about 1500 pounds more than me to get rolling!
If mine runs like I hope it does, I'm only gonna run the eighth mile. That roadster doesn't have much protection at more than 110!

Josh, what are you bringing, the Can or the Digger? Or hopefully both!!!!!!!!!

  5. Don't have a clue yet. Only can have one. Have that work meeting in the morning. Then down to Reynolds. Prolly the digger because I am not sure the can fits on my digger trailer and I don't want to be seen bolting slicks on the car at the track again. I heard what kind of folk does that!

Well, I guess you got me on that one! But remember, I said "if you got a trailer that'll haul it."
I'm still trying to figger out my logistics; my Daughter in law and son are coming also, I'll be driving my truck, pulling the trailer hauling BGII, with slicks mounted. DIL wants to drive the '40 coupe down, but I gotta let her try it first up here as that Ford Motorsport clutch is a mite stiff to push in. If she can handle that clutch, then my son Frank will pull the pop up behind his truck. But if Mona can't handle that clutch, the Frank says Mona can pull the pop up as long as she ain't gotta back it up!
At one time you trailered the Can, what happened to that deal? Should be able to find somebody willing to pull the trailer down.

Chuck, our buddy Ken Moore bought one of those Sooper Dooper high dollar Eastwood flaring tools that only came with 45* dies, so in an agreement with him, I bought the 37* dies for it so that we both have access to either one on a shared basis. So thx, but that is already covered.
I am, however, considering using some braided SS flex lines from Speedway that they sell intended specifically for brake lines. I'm sure that will make the job go much faster, just not real sure about them because I don't know anyone that's using them.

You would hope they are ok if intended for brake use.

Salt Flats, in their catalog they are listed as flexible braided SS brake hoses, so yes, you would certainly hope they are OK for that use.
But I would feel a lot better about it if I could hear from some folks on HAMB who had been using them for some reasonable period of time/mileage.

My last 16" of brake line is stainless braided. The rest is regular stainless brake line. Been on the truck for around 20 years.

Ok.... Let me be sure I got this right. Saturday Nov' 7th. Is the race day. And the gates open at 11:00am correct? And what time, do the cars start, going down the track? And how late, will we get to make passes? Is there any other, programs running the same time? And will the track be prepped? :):D:D:D:p

  17. Yes sir.
Well technically yes, but their listing on their website is/was changed to 9 am.
With a 9 am gate opening time, I would suspect the track be prepped and ready by 11ish.

We usually shut down and do our trophies and such around 4 or so pm.
    Check the calendar

Yes. The only issue I've ever had was when we coincided with the old Warner Robins Dragway reunion. They brought in additional help due to the vast amount of cars and the boys (and I mean boys) that did not know when to stop with the water hose and filling the water boxes. There was fricken water all the way up to the line  I even spun off of the line a time or two that day. :D

But yes this track is top notch and laid back all at the same time. The men that work the track are experienced and know what the hell they are doing. Which in my opinion is one of the many reasons that this track is top notch. Also it was recently repaved early this summer and it should be well seasoned by now. Although I haven't had the pleasure to check it out since it has it's new surface. Hoping to get to meet Bobby there before Nov 7th... ;)

    Hope this comes thru.

EDIT: I couldn't remember if it was you or "BIG A" . . . and it turned out you weren't the loud-mouth from last year captmullette :D[/QUOTE]

Just getting it stirred up with Big A . . . especially since I have nothing that runs right now :)

If we get to come. Here is all you will see of BAD A. Just like that 426 hemi FX car. The back end. Tyler, enjoy.

Grainger sells some good thread sealer & it is not real expensive. It is in a white bottle. called, ANTI SEIZE TFE thread sealant, product # 14018. And ARP studs can be reused. Just check for proper torque, on the studs.

ARP sells a head bolt sealant that I used and nary a drip since. Dunno WTF is going on with the thread subscription deal, but this thread dropped out on me again.
Wish Ryan would fix what we have instead of always trying to put in new shit.
