Well, nobody came up with any real reasons to change the date on the T shirts as yet.
So, unless I read some serious, no Bullshit posts wanting the logo date changed to rain date by tomorrow am, I'm leaving Tshirt logo, date, and ALL as it is now:11/7/15.
You know, I can't remember what year it was but a bunch of us spent quite awhile all standing under GAOldsman's canopy. We always had to order Tshirts in advance to be sure of getting one you could actually fit into.
So I'll bet that somewhere among my T shirts is one for an event rained out before it got stated, and no rain date raced.

  2. Damn Chuck, Tony has you down to the T ;) That said, your presence will be missed by all :( whether they know it or not. :D

Well, now that Chuck can't attend we have a vacancy in the rear gate outbound security shack. Apply within...

    :D :D :D

OK, I've got some more info on T shirts.
There are 6 colors of shirts, and I have a sample of each. Five of my samples have the RWYB event logo with the original Nov. 7 date. The other has a pic of BGII (my roadster) just intended to show you what they can do with a photo sent over the web to them. And you will be able to send them (by email) any photo you want on either the front or back, plus the RWYB event logo on the other side, or just the logo only, however you want it.
I'll have a schedule of prices posted at RWYB, Julius and Brenda's email addy, and a USPS mailing address with Julius's brother out West, who will serve as their mail contact.
You can pay by secure credit card over web via their "Square" account, or you can USPS a check or money order to the address of their mail drop with his brother. Checks and money orders will have to take additional time to clear before shipping, of course..
Not as instant gratifying as a shirt in your hand at the event, I know, but at least we'll be able to get just what we want, that is unless you want a pic of BGII without that old fart wearing a half helmet sitting in it with a "thumbs up" and a grin! LOL
But if you come to RWYB, and do your own photography, I expect you could get a pic of any car there put on a T shirt!!!!!!!!!!!!

Went out driving BGII yesterday and playing with the Line Loc, and really like it. Didn't do too much burnout stuff, not ready to replace any more driveline stuff for awhile, LOL!! But those bias ply Cokers must have a really hard durometer rating and it doesn't take a lot to spin them. After what happened to Tony with Quick & Dirty, I have no plans to do a dry hop with my slicks mounted.
But they are handy on the street as a "hill holder" like you could get on some cars back when manual shift was almost universal. Nowadays many people have never driven a manual shift and don't think to leave you a little extra room when you're stopped at a red light or stop sign on an upward incline. Makes for what used to be the first thing the GA State Patrol license examiner tested you for here in Griffin.
First thing they did was have you drive out the back entrance to a nearby street that had a steep incline, residential street with little to no traffic, and they would have you stop halfway up and shift to first gear and start off up the steep incline without rolling back. Took some good foot work!
With a line loc all you gotta do is apply brake, hold the button on shift knob in to keep front brakes applied, shift to first and put right foot on accelerator, ready to pull of when needed. The as you release clutch and feel it start pulling, release the button and off you go with no rollback into that asshole who pulled right up on your bumper when you were stopped for the red light or stop sign.
Hoping this will allow me to take my mind off keeping car in proper staging and concentrate on launch rpm.
Maybe I can then come off the line a little more consistently.

It's gonna add 10 mph on the top end!!!!

  7. Now there is one more thing to remember ..... let go of the line lock when you drop the clutch ;)

My son was going to bring a chain saw to cut up some of the downed tree there by our camping area, but he has a conflict and isn't going to be able to make the rain date. My old Poulan is over 35 years old and hasn't been used in quite awhile. Not at all sure it will fire up without some attention.
Anybody got a good running chain saw they can bring along to cut up a little firewood for the campfire?

I remember racing this car. back in the early 70's. They stopped off at English mountain dragway. On their way to Bristol. They were testing. I had a 1970 Nova, that I had modified. It had a 454, with tunnel ram and two 4's. We were going to Bristol also. But ended up staying, in pigeon forge, and partying. After we, busted that ass, on the Sox & Martin car. TWICE. They could not believe a couple of Hillbillies, had built a street car. That kicked their butt. So much for those bad AZZZ Hemi's

In post #545 I detailed the method of ordering T shirts, and I will have paperwork with me on that at RWYB. I now have the details on price. Prices I'm posting are for sizes S-XL, with 2XL & larger $3.00 more. Colors are: Kelly green, red, baby blue, sapphire, white ash, natural, sand, lime green, orange, and ice gray. Event logo only on front or back, is $10.00 Add any pic sent electronically via email to them on the other side for $15.00 total, and as I stated, prices are S-XL add $3.00 for 2XL or larger. Recommended to use colors white, natural, ash, or ice gray if adding a picture.

Just took a look at the Accuweather.co extended forecast for Dec. 5 and it says low 41* high 61* cloudy and only a 2% chance of precipitation. Hope it stays that way!

I had already wondered about that and called Ed Swearingen . The track will; not be racing Friday night, but the gate will be open amd any and all are welcome to come up and camp Fri. night. You'll prolly need to plan on getting there before dark as there won't be many if any lights on. Then I suppose when staff arrives Sat. you can buy tickets and tech card for those racing.
Now for the bad news, My brother in Lynchburgh, VA called awhile ago and my sister-in - law (his wife) died last night, arrangements not yet made and one son is in Army and stationed in Hawaii. So most likely late in next week for services. This means I won't be there next Sat. Regardless of what the day of services is, there's just too much to do to get up to VA and back, and then come to Reynolds for this old man.
Scot (GAOldsman) has agreed to handle the T shirt deal, as I had discussed this on SFCC Social Group a couple days ago when I learned she was very sick and in at home hospice care. I'm going to overnight the T shirt samples and info to him Mon. I'm about to get busy on finding someone among the Sock Fuckers who can bring the country style ribs which are in my freezer, and the charcoal I have. One way or another, I'll work it out.
    Sorry guys.

  22. Again Dave, so sorry for your loss and you will be missed. Great times will still be had and we will try to take some pics & videos to share.
