ryan, both cars are cool. but that 38..............have any more pics? blow her skirt up and show us what she's hiddin'
Kinda fuzzy at the moment......... As for the vid, I was one of the idiots sitting the Rocky33 where it was shot. Lemme tell you, Youtube DOES NOT do that moment justice
I for one was surprised of the under pinnings on the 38, he/it was featured in a "young guns" section of R&C.
It's a pretty modern car that has a traditional look... We fabbed our own A-arms based off a mustang II to support the bags up front, triangulated 4-bar rear with coil-overs, 4-wheel willwood disc brakes, etc... The motor was built by Reyher Morrison and was originally powering an S/G car we ran. I changed the heads, intake, and carb in an effort to get it streetable. It runs and idles cool in traffic now... In race form we have a dyno sheet that boasts 895hp, but it makes considerably less than that now. Very high revving motor... I shift at around 7800 RPM at the strip. When I first started building the car, I had yet to be exposed to traditional hot rods... About half way through, I started this site and saw the light as others showed it to me. I used to be kind of bummed about the split personality, but now I really like it.
Haha Ryan. You crack me up. Not many phone texting people write out "Hence my brevity" You must be fancy! Its usually "LOL tlk 2 U l8r d00d"
That is exactly what happened with my F1, put an MII under it about 4 years ago. Post-HAMB: A nice full-house flathead and lookin' good. Thanks for putting this site together Ryan!
Here is the R&C thing: http://www.rodandcustommagazine.com/featuredvehicles/135_0311_1938_ford_deluxe_coupe/index.html
i missed the story on why they wont mention the hamb or ryan anymore, please someone enlighten me! bob
I am pretty biased about the '38 Deluxe Fords, I just love them. I'm building one myself, so naturally have ended up with a bit of a collection of Ryans '38 from all over the www. I hope whoever took these doesn't get upset with me, I can't remember where I found them. Just wanted to share the pics I have of what is a great looking coupe.
'38 dlx '39 std i couldn't make my mind up but Ryans coupe is one of the reasons i own my '39 today, the one thing i really dig on the '38 is the front sheet metal & thats where i'm heading with mine sometime soon with the '38 hoodsides i have. Kev.
I think 38's are one of the sleeper years that done up right can look way cool... as were seeing here. You don't see alot of them at shows, which is another plus IMO.
Kick ass ride Ryan. Thanks for sharing the addt'l pix Steve 38. I hope my 46 ends up 1/2 as good. Paco
I came across that Young Guns article again just 2 weeks ago. Got a big kick out of the writeup! Ryan, I was wondering if those are stock headlights on the '38? They look different somehow. I'd love to see the dash on that too, if you have a pic. Both are very sweet cars!
you should look into gettin a pc ryan! walmart sells them! i assume the next build is the sedan??? wonder what color it will be???hmm..... i heart both your cars man....just perfect!
Wish i had found the HAMB sooner, before getting so far into my car too. I notice a change in your profile, there used to be another "A", now there is a 57 Cadillac. Could this be a new project ?
