    WOW.

i really dont know what to say to all of you. i just do this for the memories, friendships, and the fact of helping out brothers and sisters. i feel that this is what the hamb/hotrodding is all about. i know when my day of needing help miles away from home comes there will be someone from somewhere to lend a hand or tool.

    this is awesome, THANKS.

after thinking about the fact that you call Big Olds a he cause he's got a big block.

i'm a little discused with my self for giving him a top less wash job!! i was thinking of someone else anyways so i dont think that one counted.

    thank you.

Very cool, snail mail on the way Denise.

My press is a 30 ton press, will do ANYTHING automotive........any smaller is a waste of time. A good size H-frame is the way to go.

This one was suggest by Slick50 in a PM as opposed to the HF one.

If anyone has an idea for a larger one please pass it along. I'm all ears.

Jerry suggested this bearing separator as well

That's the same one that HF has. AND you have to pay freight.

Ryno can probably take his butt to Grizzly and pick one up. Pretty sure he has a BIG truck. Not sure if there is a tool shop in Joplin that would have a large press.. Anyone?

    I concur on the seperator.

It's going to take me a little while, but I should be able to jump in for $10.

  13. If the money cup runith ith over, you might think about a slap hammer so he doesn't have to borrow one from the parts store.

Ryno, we are being a little selfish in this also. We are paying forward to have a shop we can get into when we are in the area!

Thanks again for the help and the floor. Twice!

That's cool! Does anyone know if they have a 20 or 30 ton press? The reason I keep on this is I set out to buy the 12 ton from Harbor Freight to do the axles in the 59's but I realized the entire press wasn't large enough to fit the axle.

  23. This is the one to get IMO. Close enough to save the freight and heavy enough to handle the job. If there's extra loot the slide hammer is a good idear, and/or blocks for the press.

Yeah, presses need lots of accessory toys, blocks, bearing splitters from the store and a large selection of bits of tubing and chunks of metal with holes from the scrapyard later.

A press is a basic home appliance...long ago, I trained my 6 year old daughter to use mine to GREATLY reduce the space required for cans being recycled...splat!

I have been helped on road trips many times and mostly have not been able to repay those folks. So, like my Grandad said, you just do something good the next time you have a chance and you will feel good. Sounds like Ryno is one of those who deserves to make me feel good. Joe

Probably the best bet would be to just send Ryno a visa type gift card and send him to the store to get what he wants/needs. This way we aren't sending him toys he won't use, or won't have a need for, and he'll get exactly the one he wants.

I remember back in the days when I lived at home and my parents were still married, my mom gave my dad a pair of boots for Christmas. Of course, this was also back in the day before they really came out with gift cards as well. Anyway, she cut out a picture of a pair of boots and paper clipped a $100 bill to the picture and wrapped it up. He's still got the same boots more than 20 years later.

  30. Word!

BUT......Ryno *might* just spend it on more McPhail art......and like everybody says ---McPhail sucks  (just kiddin, Dennis:eek:)

Seriously, let him get his own stuff. And if he doesn't have what tools we need in his garage next year, we'll just give him a HAMB beat-down :p

IF I win, Denise, give my cookies to somebody else to enjoy ;)
