They could pop them open when the judges are there and leave them shut the rest of the time. It's true you can't appreciate the lines of a custom with the trunk and hood open.

I totally agree about the flow of the lines, but you don't know when the judges will be at your car and they won't tell you ahead of time. Most people don't stay by their car during the show.
I was showing my '40 Convertible at the Sacramento Autorama and on set-up day had a "judge" tell me I wouldn't get the points for interior or motor because I had my doors and hood closed (top was down). I didn't want to disrupt the flow of the lines by having them open.
It's a f'n convertible, Dude. You can't see the upholstery?
He said it's in the rule book, I told him he can keep his trophy.

    Regards, Lance
(Sorry about hi-jacking the pic thread.)

SEISXSEISXSEISX-thanks for sharing the pics. My wife and I went last night also. She said the "basement" was far and away a more "lively" crowd. Road Zombies, sure have an awesome display. And I great to see and talk to Alex Gambino & Steve "Cab". Upstairs, Jimmy Vassers "409" was one of the coolest looking cars I've seen in a long time. Great show, Go see it.

Seisx............................Do you have any more photos of
the gold chopped 1957 Oldsmobile? I love these 57 Olds
    and Buicks with mild chops.

    Thanks for the pics!

And to think they have the balls to call the indoor stuff in the DFW area a rod and kustom show...

Your lucky to find 12 kool cars at a show here most of the time.

  15. And a couple hundred for a round trip ticket;)

    Thanks for the pics seisxseisxseisx.

WOW :p Thanks for the great pics. I saw a 56-57 light green Lincoln in the background of several shots (you went all around it LOL) Got any of that one?

Boy it was great being there last yr, would have loved to come back again  Instead I was at work at 6am, I told them "you know last yr on this day I was walking around the S.F. car show. I think I hurt their feelings, their comment "WHAT? you'd rather be there than with us!!) HELL YES:D

    Thanks again, great shots!!!

They are required to do that for judging. Most cars entered are chasing an award.

The show was friggin' awesome. I just got off the plane at SFO from France and headed directly there from the airport jet-lagged from hell. This seemed to be the best display of traditional rods and customs at this show yet. I just didn't get the room dedicated to the Toyota Scions, WTF?
