  4. Went today... lotta cool shit...

Reggie Jackson's Willys was bad ass... cept they needed to move the front axle forward an inch and a half more.

And that gold '55 was cool... Brizio built it. The parking lights are a flop, kinda an afterthought looking affair...

The black sedan was a show car with a rat rod look. Not my bag... but there were a few creative elements.

I got a free beer from KIRK! at the Billetproof booth... the code word was Jackass Antelope... or something like that.

    I had fun.

    Sam.

Upstairs is for finished cars, downstairs is for ratrod and suede customs.
Upstairs you have to submit a picture and be accepted, downstairs any car can show.
Upstairs is highly judged and displays are expected. Downstairs the awards are picked by car clubs and such.

Hoods, doors, and trunks should be open if you want credit for an engine swap, custom interior, or other such modifications. It's a choice made by the guy showing the car.

Mine is the green truck with all the tikis around it. You will notice I have the hood closed.

    Craig.

    Nice show.

Were any of these street driven?

Makes me think of my days when I was a newbe in the Bay area back in the '70s. I lost interest in the hot rod/muscle car life back then cause I never saw anything on the streets except Vans with crazy murals painted on them. I cruised the El Camino a lot from San Jose to So. San Francisco in my '65 GTO, hung out at St. James Infirmary, went to a lot of concerts at the Cow Palace, but never any car shows, never saw any hot rods on the streets to keep my interest any more. Maybe it was just the Bay area of California that was dead?
So I came back to the northeast in 1980 were it was just as vacant of hot rods when I left.
Then came the '90s and all of a sudden the car scene seemed to come back to life stronger then ever. Now I see them driven everywhere in the summer, somtimes even a few in the winter.

Cool man.. thanks for all the pictures. My brother has been sending me tiny cell phone pictures all day long.

Wish I could have made it up this weekend. Would have been cool to go to the show and the to the RZ party.

    Next time!

so those are the new billet corvette hubcap wheels (on the 55) I have been hearing about.. how did they look in person.. I was hoping they would be the earlier version (without the outer slots).

    looks like some nice cars...

Last nite driving home from my store, sirrius outlaw country played the classic,"wildwood flower". The song about that dang old weed that lets them take a trip and never leave the farm. Well I am crowning you "King of Oakland" for this fab. photo shoot, for us here in the frozen midwest, you have provided a Sunday morning treat. I am truly impressed with the variety of sweet iron. My senses are reeling from all the GREAT photos. Thank you for taking your time to allow the sisters and brothjers of the H.A.M.B. to attend the show through your eyes. Great to see the Road Zombies in force with the worlds coooolest tiki bar ever, and lottsa hip rides. Loved the tiki display on the f-100 truck as well. I will be looking at these many more times to study some great details on the rides. I could rave on about many of the other things as well, but just a final Thanks Dude!!!-Sololobo-And yes I've taken a trip and never left the farm!!!

  21. I'm glad you like the pics sololobo, and thanks for the title"King of Oakland",but lets not forget my loyal subjects Sir 49rat of fink and Lord Javier Mejia.Without their loyalty to the Kingdom of H.A.M.B. this would not have been possible.....haha

Those look pretty neat to me, although I think the tires are too rubberbandy.
What is the diameter of the wheels, and who's making them?
