I currently have two 1935 Dodge 6" Floating Power speedometers I’m working on, one 100mph and one 160kph. I currently I am converting the 160kph unit to 160mph by changing the odometer gears from kilometers to miles so that will read correctly, then recalibrating the speed to mph. I am also having overlays printed of the kph dial replacing the Dodge and kph with mph for future conversions of the 100mph dial to 160mph for customers who want that done. Here are some pictures, I don’t have a picture of the new dial art yet as it is still being worked on. The current kph dial will be left as is as I don’t want to cover up a rare dial and it could be converted back to reading kph by changing back the odometer gears and recalibrating on the test bench. I know I’m walking the solicitation line here but both speedometers will be up for sale.
This big speedometers is really nice. Thanks for posting. My project has changed in era and its more dragracing theme and very early 50's now. I'll just fall for the Hollywood panels and the idea as race oriented just order a complete panel in the end of the 40's, so not elegant cruze or desert track or Bonneville or oval as Miller cars, but more poor guys dragrace coupe. I don't know how many had afford a S/W panl back in the days but I guess it was not that expensive. So right now I feel very please on my S/W panel and the Wing gauges, I'll just need a RPM gauge. The 160 MPH speedp is just so cool.
