I just picked up a basket case 47 Ford Sedan this weekend. Tonight I was sifting through the parts and found this vacuum looking thing with the Stewart Warner logo and the number shown. Any ideas?

Probably related to a Columbia two speed rear end. Vacuum diaphragms shift the little gear box so the speedometer will match the gear ratio chosen....

As I recall, vacuum was used the shift the rear axle ratios as well, so it seems reasonable this was part of the whole system.

And the doo-dads like that can be hard to find. Folks keep the rear end and toss the controls.

Thanks guys. It looked like Speedo connectors on the ends but I doubted myself because I'd never seen one of these before.
