My brother and I went on Saturday. Awesome show, many flatheads in attendance and looking good! Loads of great customs and Hot Betty's, there was a lot to see. Outside there was some great cars and we got several start-up confrontations that blew everyone away, a lot of horsepower was going on and it sounded great! I appreciated seeing that many good hotrods. There was something for everybody. Take em for a ride! Thanks for the pictures.

Hi, my name is Scott Corey, owner / builder / driver of the boat "Shiver Shot" that was at the Sacramento Autorama.

First, big thanks to the nice things said on here and guys I do not even know coming to my defense. The boat does run, I fired it up when we arrived on set-up day.

The comments below are the type of **** that makes me laugh . . . internent warriors and internet bullies. Believe me, if I let it get to me, I would never get anything built, more or less even started.

Well, I hate bullies and know it all's. So here are my responses:

Dad's 1932, you do not have a clue to the facts . . . but I offer the next time you see my boat, you can tell me how it works. You seem to be the expert here. Funny, it works just fine for me:

And this guy, the real armchair expert . . . maybe it is you that has the problem. No tweaking here, just 36 years of experience in hot rods, drag racing, drag boats, sprint cars, and as an aerospace engineer . . . and what have you built that is so awesome? I would love to know . . . .

And thanks again for the nice comments, it is the reason I joined . . . not because of these clowns.

Well Scott I for one enjoyed talking to you on thursday and seeing your boat. Thats why I posted the pics it is an amazing piece of engineering and workmanship and I appriciate that. Some things are not for everyone but thats what makes the world go round, hell some even like flatheads.......

So are you still sorting it out? I think it has a lot of potential performance.
Would like to find out what it can do.

That's a great looking batch of flatheads, thanks for sharing.

I wouldn't worry too much over the disparaging remarks of a couple of the guys Because I Can, some of them think that earn their "trad" credibility on the board by knocking other peoples stuff. I know one thing, that boat will go faster than I want to ride in it:eek: and that it looks like you spent quite a bit of time engineering it.

Well I do have a clue to the facts and here is my problem with this boat . Most people do not know what they are looking at and are getting lied to. I just don't think it's right to blow smoke up innocent people's (you know what's) and to make false claims .Talk about internet warrior! If this guy just told people that he built it to run parade laps at the lake and make people talk to him then I would be ok with it . Unfortunately he is claiming it is fast and he has all this experience in drag boats. Here is his quote :
36 years of experience in hot rods, drag racing, drag boats, sprint cars, and as an aerospace engineer
If he did truly know about drag boats then it would not have that "Unique" wing on it,all the extra "stuff" all over it would be gone and it definitely would not have a parachute .Flat bottoms don't need parachutes ,they stop plenty fast on there own. Top Alcohol flats that run 160+ mph do not have chutes for a reason. It's a good way to sink or crash a flat bottom boat. People see a chute and think ,oh wow that must be fast ,so this is why this boat has one. We also all know weight is horsepower so you can see by looking at the boat he is not going for speed.

His quote again :but I offer the next time you see my boat, you can tell me how it works. You seem to be the expert here. Funny, it works just fine for me:
I never claimed to be an expert and I never will make that claim.I will leave that up to you. I do know "how it works" which is why I know it is built to do parade laps and for show which is all fine ,just don't say it's a drag boat or that it's fast .Just because it runs on a trailer and runs around the lake at cruising speed does not make it a Drag race Boat as you have claimed it is. A GM production SBC can't handle all the boost that 4 turbos and a blower will produce . You would have to under drive the blower and make the Turbo's inefficient to keep the boost down and keep the engine in one piece. Basically de-tune all five components to keep them from producing to much boost. Essentially any one of the components could produce enough boost for a GM production SBC to handle so the other four are there why ? It's back to the looks thing .If that thing ever see's any real RPM under a load with boost from what four turbos and a blower should produce, hmmmm , let's just say it might be a fun video to watch. Drag boats go from a standing start at full throttle.I would like to see a video of your boat doing that please ? Since you said , Funny, it works just fine for me: I consider a fast flat bottom open boat to run above 110mph and anything under a 10 second quarter mile. There are plenty of flats that run in the 8's and 9's with a single four barrel so with 4 turbos and a blower you would think a sub 10 second p*** would be easy ?
I am a less is more kinda person. I am constantly impressed with the hp numbers that the modern engines make .There are some very fast cars/boats out there that are very un***uming and that is very cool.Looking at his deal I would expect it to be a 150mph+ deal .Hell it's got for turbos and a blower to boot !!!!
I do not have a problem with what people want to build , to each his own and that is what makes the world go round .I think it's a good thing. We all know there are plenty of "show" cars/boats/truck etc out there and they have there place. I just hate when innocent people are getting lied to about something. It's wrong !!

I will make you this offer .... When you get some REAL numbers on what the boat will run like a quarter mile time slip or you get a video of the boat making a full throttle standing start and a full throttle quarter mile p*** at over 110mph ,post it for all of us to see and I will erase my posts and make a formal apology . BTW , no gps readings .I have seen people in there wake board boats get a gps to read 150mph . You run at Camp far west and there is usually someone with a radar gun at the shore so that would work. Without some real proof of how fast your boat is don't even bother coming on here a making some more false claims. Proof should be easy. We will all wait patiently.
The bar is set pretty low so with all those turbos and a blower to top it off , as you have said " works fine for me "this should be a walk in the park !

Back to the thread at hand . The first four cars in this row are Flathead powered and driven on a daily basis . Very cool !

well, it's been awhile since Mr. FlatBottom5Supercharger has posted and no response to the challenge. May we consider that he has been "called out" and can't respond? Love it when a 'hot air balloon" springs a leak.:eek::D

First, I'm not going to get long winded like this with a response. This thread is not about my boat, and I was responding to the comments you made.

I did not build the boat to "blow smoke up innocent people ***es, and/or lie to them". I built it because I could. And I built it because I have been studying turbo-supercharging and planning this project for a long time. I also built it using the components intended for a LSR project that I stopped because I was diagnosed with cancer, and was told I did not have much more time left. No, I'm not looking for sympathy, as I survived . . . . and I decided to follow thru with my project, but instead of the LSR deal, I went with the Sanger. And yes, a lot trial and error and of blown up parts later, I finally got it running right. And I never listened to the guys that sound just like you . . . "just go out and leg it!!!!!" . . . great when you are not paying the bills or sitting in the driver's seat with family on shore watching.

The wing, if you looked closely, has it's purpose, and it is not downforce . . . . I'll leave it at that.

The chute is fully functional, and I spent hours fabricating all the peices you cannot even see so the chute is tied to the stringers, engine and v-drive. Do I intend in using it . . . HELL NO! But I had it so why not. I would love to have a penny for every chute I have seen on any hot rod that is filled with old shirts and underwear . . .

And as far as proving anything to you . . . I don't need to . . . like all the other haters and critics out there, everyone is en***led to their comments and opinions, and you are too.

I don't understand what false claims I have made, after all, like you have said, I have posted no ET or MPH numbers. The boat runs. It runs great. I fired it at the show. I am happy with the project, and that is what is important to me . . . . not your 2 pesos of knowledge or proving anything to you.

and you are right, back to a great thread, thanks for posting up the pics.

    Scott
