I dunno...seems to me I would have taken the $560...what are you gonna get for it if you cut it up? Zero? Doesn't make a bit of sense to cut up two good cars...give them away if you need the storage.

maybe you should sell it for the 560 and let someone have a chance at building it. if it has been forsale for two yrs and you can not get what you want for it, maybe its priced to high (I can not say having not seen it).

Seems a shame to cut it to pieces, I'm not sure your going to get more for it cut up, and it's more work.

You get no sympathy here... a rattlecan coat of flat black on it would have gotten you higher bids... now your cutting it up to spite who?

Mike, I know you are a good guy and all, but this is pathetic

cut it up? like sell the panels? I dont see how ruining a piece of history like that can be justified

BTW, you should have good luck selling that power steering setup, I saw a complete and original setup sell for $1500 2 years ago

  12. easy enough , I'm facing a $100 a day fine for unlicensed cars from the city, been for sale, bought, stripped, ***hole lost the paper work, former owner moved to unknown regions, then traded it back to me, now the city's on my case-I'm sick of it and the h***eles its brought.I'm not posting it for sale here ,but email me w an offer or trade that i can use + I'll hold off til the end of the week.

  13. yep . I know , they (PStrng)are rare even online so the $1300 for all three cars is fair I thought.
look no one wants to save these old girls more than I, but its time has come. I'm out time, room and pateince. you understand -I LOVE the tri fives, prolly more than most, like to the tune of 35 of em over the years, but I am unable to do the car because of my health and out of time and room for it.

my guess is you offered to muchm more then the average guy can handle, try each seperate. I know if I was wanting the PS set up, I would not wtnt to take the other stuff with it. like you most dont have room for three cars. I would do each seperate, then part it out, but if you get close to a decent offer take it and run, its all free money now,

No restorer is gonna buy the parts off of that g***er, save for the straight front axle. The beauty of owning a tri-5 is that you can call up Danchuk and have perfect body panels shipped to your door for a reasonable price and you don't have to fix old ones. For the g***er I don't think you'll be any better off on parts than if you sold it whole for 560 bucks. Besides, cut it up and it's gone forever. To know that that car was restored and back on the road would make up the $700 difference in my mind.

  16. actually there is a lot there window regs , trunk lid, 3 doors, good roof, back gl*** ,rr seat back rest and 4 dr bottom all inner window trim both F+B OS trim ,new rear springs , good gas tank , podwer coated gas tank straps w new hardware, ash tray , glove door ,latches ,locks ,gauge pod, dash trim (210)inner arm rests , sun visors w brackets , RV mirror,Headlnr bows and hlnr/trim edging stuff plates, heater switch/lever plate ,htr grilles , wiper motor, stands and arms, HL buckets ,solid inner fenders + Thats just the g***er,Maybe I'll run it one more time in seperate auctions in a parts auction on a 5 day, after that whatever is left and I can't pull is s****, strt axle I'll keep.

  17. its posted in the cl***ifieds b4 i get accused of using this board to sell the car and to GIVE EVERYONE A LAST CHANCE , I'LL PUT IT UP ON EGAY AGAIN ON A 3 DAY BUY IT NOW tommorow

    Lemme get this straight. You:

--are in a severe cash shortage situation right now
--have the local gov't telling you to get the cars gone quickly
--was offered $560 on eBay (did I read that right?)

    And you have decided to:

--spend a bunch of time and effort and saw blades or torch gas to cut it all up, plus a bunch of gas money and more time to haul it off to the s****per and get $150?

    Gee that makes perfect sense.

You can't say you love a car, then go and cut it up because you can't do anything with it. That's the stupidest thing I've heard in a long time. Like someone else said, give it to someone. That solves half your problem right there.

  20. yep ,temporarily out of cash, but don't have to do this to recoup, got plenty of parts to do that, pop told me if you don't work for it or pay for it with honest earned money ,ain't worth nothin anyway, nothings for free except to family and my brothers and I usually get back more than they take over the long haul, gas is cheap- I use propane 100# cyl has lasted through a year + some 12 cars and still 1/3 full, parts is parts and parts is MONEY ,FAR above that $150,don't beleive for a minute that there will be anything usefull left of any of these 3 cars when I'm done, just a big pile of s****,worked for years in a s**** yard and know the tricks.hell, if ya think I'm bad I know guys who cut up perfectly good cars if no one buys em in a month! I've had this thing for 3 years.yes, i do love these cars,I bought a shell, put it all together , took it apart ,put it together sold it ,got it back RUINED,but enough is enough, how long should I pay that $100 fine (starts the first of Dec) to make someone who doesn't want it or can't afford to buy it (Damn cheap for a trifive) happy? ,The first is the end for it - period, one way or the other.something has to go ,how about my 65 caddy w 58k orig or my 65 galaxie 2dr hdtp BBlk w 98k or my 79 Monte w 39K hell, not much choice there- goodbye 57

I would be interested but how much would it cost to get it to texas ????

  23. Mike, I'm interested in the '57 straight axle car, I posted a reply in your new ad. If it's still around this weekend a friend and myself would like to drive up and look at it. Can you PM me your phone number and I'll try to give you a call on Friday. Man if I get the '57 I'd have 2 straight axle projects.

  24. Dirty, big money, far as i know ,seems most that are interested fly away as soon as they find out about shipping costs, hell, so would I ,Thats why I only buy MN or surrounding state cars.

Mike, how much for the Caddy, I used to have one of those

  28. That Chevy would be a 15k car here these days...and it'd sell before the Caddy and the Galaxie.

There's a fair few guys dragging them into Oz (along with Mustangs!).

You ever think about donating it to a local high school auto shop? Maybe you can get a tax deduction for doing that.

Good luck with your choice. My pops had to cut up a 4-door last week to make room for his g***er madness.
