First off, I want to thank everyone that did vote for me for R&C's Ego-Rama. Your support meant/means alot. It's a great feeling to know I have so many friends that care and I do consider you all friends, whether we've met in person or not.

With all that being said, I did not receive enough votes to be one of the choosen 6 finalist. It was told to me that I'm right at the cut off. Meaning if someone declines, they take the next one in line. All of the first 6 have accepted though.

I'm quite bummed to say the least but I keep thinking that maybe it's Gods way of telling me I can't afford it! [IMG] I took a second job, nites and weekends to make sure I'd have enough money for the trip since my time off from my real job would have been without pay. I used my vacation time this year of B'ville and the HAMB Drags. I'll probley keep the part time job, maybe through Christmas, and thus saving enough money for a TOP! [IMG] Maybe windows too! [IMG]

Please don't feel bad, I'll be ok. Disappointed but ok.

VIVA LA HAMB! Go get'em DON!

I'm sorry to hear that also, I know that you would have put a good show on and been a good opponent to the other compe***ors. Like you said, maybe there is an underlying reason and you can put that money and time to a different use? I like your idea of the new top and windows. That way you can cruise year-round without that yellow rain suit [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Sorry to hear that but it's not the end of the world. You have more fun with your car than most people so, if you're not having fun at the Ego-Rama I'm sure you'll be having fun wherever you are.

Sorry to hear that Denise, it would have been great to have you compete. Maybe they were scared that you would win and bruise their ego. Do you suppose you could demand a recount of the votes just to keep them honest? HAHA!!!

****! Denise, if there is anybody that should be in the Ego-Rama it SHOULD be you. I cannot think of anyone that is more deserving than you. Your enthusiam, cheerfullness and good spirits make you the person that you are and not getting selected for the tour makes those that run it all the poorer. It's their loss, not yours!!! In my mind, you are already the winner.

    Denise --

The Big Olds don't need an Ego-Rama.

It has proven itself way beyond the dreams of most hot rods -- 30,000 frickin' miles with no top or sidegl*** in two summers.

I know of NO other hot rod, ******* or not, that can match that.

If those other 5 (I'm not including Don) can do what you've done . . . then I'll be impressed with their cars!

Besides, there's always next year. Never too early to start campaigning . . .

    later,
    Steve.

Please don't Skip. Thank you so much for the thought BUT the numbers dictait that I didn't get enough votes to participate. That wouldn't be fair to those that did. The voters spoke. I'm ok with that. It wasn't meant to be.

Also, your welcome. I'm glad the skirts got there in good shape.

I REALLY appreicate all the kind words. It really makes me feel alot better tonight.

I also want to add a very special THANK YOU to all the HAMB folks that offered me a place to crash on my way out to CA, during the stay in AZ, and during the trip home. Just thinking about all the generous offers that I received makes me feel really special. I'm especially bummed that I'm gonna miss a dip in River1's hot tub! Don't give my seat away Jim, I'll be there next year [IMG]

Rudy....I'm gonna hold you to that hug ya know [IMG]

  28. I demand a RECOUNT!!!!

Denise, really girl... you have more fun in that hot rod of yours than most of us... your at***ude keeps on a shining after most of ours have peter'd out... and speaking of peters... or lack thereof... we need to have more women like you in the hobby! I say you buy that top, the windows... sheesh, maybe even (dare I say it) paint the thing yourself, and then re enter next year with a fresh new look! Ah, screw that! Just drive it the way you been driving it... and keep havin' fun!

Sorry to hear it but the extra money for a top and windows will be really welcome when you finally break down and install A/C!
Hey, if it was me [uninvited opinion here] I'd better my chances for an eventual win at Ego-rama with a posi rear axle. For those that weren't at the HAMB drags, that torquey 455 Olds absolutely ROASTED the right rear tire for the first 600 feet or so. If all that wasted torque was put to the ground, you'd really go girl!
