I recieved word today that (Chaz) Chuck Kaparich passed away this morning. He was diagnosed with Multiple Myaloma about a month ago. Chuck was in good spirits and was looking forward to driving his 53 Ford Ranchwagon Woody to a few shows this summer.
Long time members of the hamb will remember Chaz and his sense of humor and talent as well as following the many builds that came out of the Strange Days Shop over the years.
Chuck was my friend and mentor for 30 some years and was the most talented guy I have ever know. I will miss him dearly. He could do it all, Cabinet builder, carver, welder, body man, home designer and builder mostly self taught, and I learned alot from him over the years.
If you google the name Chuck Kaparich you will get about 3 pages of links on him.

Here is some ofthe stuff that has come out of the Strange Days shop over the years.

RIP, Chaz. What a nice guy. Met him at Autorama, when he had the Fink-O-Sel there. Amazing workmanship! Complimented him on it, and immediately struck up a friendship. So talented, so friendly!

I hate to hear this. Chaz was always busy with his own projects, and encouraging others on their own projects. RIP.

I hate to see this. I didn't know him personally, but always enjoyed his posts on the HAMB, and appreciated his creativity, and the attitude you could read in his posts. Thanks for telling us. RIP.

  19. Oh No, Chuck was such a great guy and he was a huge motivator for me when I was building our Ranch Wagon and I followed ever inch of the way when he was building his own version of his wagon.

Another thing in common was we both has a wild rabbit take up with us, Scooper & Jack, it made for some interesting conversations.

Chuck was a amazingly talented man and wasn't afraid to tackle some huge projects, I am devastated to hear of Chucks passing, condolences to you and Chucks family, his presence here will be missed by all that followed his builds but he definitely left his mark on the Hamb, HRP

I'm sorry for your loss, he sounds like a good friend of mine that I lost a few years ago named Larry Barnett. Incredibly gifted hot rod and muscle car builder, huge amount of knowledge lost when he passed, I miss him often and still want to call him when I run into an issue. Keep his memory alive and honor your friends legacy. RIP.
