Safe Torque Tube Angles

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Baron Von Mike, Sep 30, 2004.

  1. I've seen this discussed in the past, but lost the threads. Seems some people lower their car only to have the torque tube spill oil out the front.

What's the minimum angle from trans to banjo that the torque tube can be at to prevent this?

The last discussion I remember had fancy pics and all to describe this. It showed oil levels and such. Sorry I lost track of it.

i'm not aware that there is any angle that will work. vern tardel makes a unit that fits into the torque tube to stop the migration. even with the internal seal , the grease gets past it. they do make pinion bearings with a grease seal that should help this. i'll pull the plug on my ****** and see if it works.
