saginaw 525 steering box pitman arm??

    on a 525 steering box, stock ford 1940 pitman arm will fit? or need a chevy pitman arm???? thanks for your times

    I know for fact that the spline-count and "clocking" are compatible. I've asked here in the past whether anyone had any definitive figures on tapered angles for the two pieces. I'm still not convinced that the two pitmans are designed with EXACTLY the same taper, although several guys here have stated they've swapped them with no problems.

    My experience has been that the '40 arm doesn't seem to want to go onto the splines FAR-ENOUGH to be able to use the full threads of the Saginaw nut when first installing the Saginaw lock washer. I've tried using two different '40 arms in an attempt to rule-out any damaged splines. Something just not "kosher" with my deal. DD
