Hot Rods Said goodbye to an old friend today...

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by thunderbirdesq, Oct 17, 2011.

  1. I've seen this car and it comes to the top of the list when I think roadster. Beautiful car.

You'll likely see alot of influence from yours on mine. Your car is one of many reasons why I bought a roadster and deuce rails. Can't wait to see what's next!

One of my favorite 'A' Roadsters... Congrats on the sale! What part of the country is it going to? I'll look forward to your Ranchero build for sure.

I honestly don't know how some of you guys do that. There's just too much of me in my 28 to ever let it go....I think.....offers?

Good luck with whatever comes next. It has big shoes to fill.

  8. So, I guess that means that you are not accepting my offer of $200.00 for it, HUH ?

    Some friend you are.

    HA, HA

Glad for you that you sold it. Truly hope it found a good home. Now get to work on that little side project.

...it does make my heart ache a little to see it on the market already, but the new owner was a pleasure to deal with, paid the price of admission in cash, and the car is his to do with what he pleases I suppose.

Yep, thats the guy that bought my old gl*** 32 3 window too. Again nice guy to deal with and paid cash with NO questions..and also flipped the car within a week of buying it from me.
Same feeling's here man, kinda felt like a punch in the gut when i saw it listed within a week but once we sell em, it's sold.
I just thought the guy was cool and was happy to see it go to someone who i thought was gonna enjoy it...but that was my own fault for thinking that certainly not his.

Someone will end up with it who truly appreciates it.

I also know the new owner, who is a genuine good guy. This is what he does and just know that a lot of the money from the sale will go to Charity, so you cant argue with him flipping it. He bought it, he owns it and can with it what he wants, one of the few guys who steps up with the cash without crying about it. I say good luck to him.:)

Hey - I personally have no problem with the idea of flipping it. He bought it and he can do whatever he wants with it. Money talks. But look at the ***le of the post. This is about the emotional attachment. You put your heart and soul into building something, and it's nice to think that whoever gets it will love it as much as you did.

****, if I had that car I would die of old age in it. . .

Really slick roadster. In the past 40 years I've sent a lot of them down the road and it's hard to see them go. I've just looked ahead to the day when I could finally keep a couple and didn't have to sell to build.
