I'm returning to Austin for the 4th time for the Lonestar Round Up...

In 2007 I went with Rod Powell and Lee Pratt for the first time and have been back every year. I love it! I've made some great friends and expect to make more..

Leaving Salinas in a few hours (around 10am) after I catch some z's.. Going in a wagon again.. after flying last year... If anyone from Cali is leaving tomorrow and wants to caravan let me know.. Plan on driving to Tucson or Las Cruces depending on how tired we are and making it to Austin Wednesday evening

Here's the thread from our first trip...
    http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=170868&highlight=salinas+to+austin

I'll post some pic when I get back!

    See ya there!

(We'll be at Reggies and The Continental Gallery on Thursday and taking pics on Saturday or hanging with the fellas at Owen's Salvage booth.. We'll have a few t-shirts, Church Numero 3 and Bomba books for sale.. stop by & say hey!)

Geez. Church, Plowboy who else is missing the Roundup this year? It seems like a bunch of regulars are not able to make the trip this year but the buzz is bigger then ever. I think there is going to be a ton of first time Roundup goers which is cool and there will definitely be some regulars in the mix.... we can always count on you being there Juan!!!!

Okay.. the pile on my desk is getting smaller and I finally made enough time to look through our photos and post some...

Our buddy Oscar was crazy enough to let us borrow his custom shoebox wagon for a 3,200+ miles road trip, and we're crazy enough to take it.

People on the road asked if it was a studebaker, chevy, hudson, pt cruiser (yeah really), magnum, merc and a few a ford.

Our photos sharing wall space with some great artists and photographers.

I'll post more later, got to get some work done.

Okay so there is plenty of great Round Up coverage on the HAMB so here are my personal TOP TEN picks (not Deadend Magazine's Top Ten.. I think my brother would have a different Top Ten and together we'd make a different list)

It was hard to make a list.. Plenty of nice rides...

    In no particular order...

This truck was super clean! Bruce's Hot Rod shop did an outstanding job.

Lee Pratt's 58 Impala is a cl***ic.. I think anywhere this car is it would be in my Top Ten.

El Jefe's Gary Howard built Caddy is another cl***y custom.

This Ford was nice. Honestly if you would've described this car to me in words without me seeing it I wouldn't think it would work, but it does.

Saw this thing pull in and had to walk over to look at it... Awesome g***er!

When I seen pictures on here of 50Fraud's Ford I knew I'd like it.. Seeing it in person, I loved it!

Norwell's pick up was awesome in person! Jeff, Neil and everyone else involved killed it! I should've shot it!

The HemRod.. I'll be the first to admit I'm not the biggest fan of the color.. but man thing thing is nice!

Seen this neat little sedan the first time I went to Texas and have loved seeing ever since.. Simple and nice!

Yup, another Sedan.. I know.. But this car was clean!

Like I said.. hard to make a list with so many cars at the show.. Reggie's Roadster was another favorite, so was John Mearn's 36, and StudHud's Pontiac. (Honestly one of the reasons these 3 didn't make it in my Top Ten is because I didn't get good pictures of them.. haha)

    What do you guys think?

Nice 10 Juan. Very cool '57. I've only seen one other Caddy with chrome Sabers before.

No prob.. Ive always been a fan of your car.. ever since I seen it at the SF Rod & Custom show with a trailer a few years back.

I messed up and only got a shot of it in front of the Continental Club (and it's not much of a shot.. haha)
