Hammits 36 is Painted and going back together. We did all the prep work here and gave a few pieces at a time ready to paint (500 grit) to My Favorite painter Jessie Cruz who now works for Don Orosco's private shop about 10 miles from us. Orosco has been very cool to let us use his booth after Jessie's normal work days. After each part is brought back to our shop and the boy's and I Block it in 800,1200,1500,2000, then Buff. What alot of work doing such a little car, alot of surface area. We have had the chassis done and Body back on it for about a month, wiring and inner panels (0.50 aluminum) for upulstery and stereo shit going in too. Its going together pretty well and have finished grill, fenders, doors hung on our walls waiting till the smoke clears to bolt them on, Hard to wait but why stumble over painted stuff more then we have to. Sorry I havent posted in a long while but I read Hamb daily and check out you ladies daily. Happy Holy Days - Cole
Wow that thing look just as good with paint as without. Are you takin it to paso? I'm just starting on my 36 but man you are setting the bar high, for a nice 36. All other will have to live up to high standard. Rodger
I can't wait to see the finished car...I bet you have a good time "assembling" it.That Coupe looks terrific...The pic of you mirroring in the mile deep paint tells it all.
gayness with guitar .......will have panel over it, any other way would showcase it ,I wasnt for it, still not ,so I will Hide it .
Ahhh yes...the place for his '54 Strat ( or was it a '56 ? )....now I remember. You think Rev. Gibbons wants that for one of his cars too ? (By the way,I think a "stock-type" Strat won't fit in there since the case is designed for a guitar with reversed headstock but what I do know at all...)
One for the Girls Brandon (harvester of bondo) picked up a triumph from a kid in town and is building this rightious lil chopper , we all like it alot but dont tell him we said so.
What is it with gay ass rock stars and their need to "theme out" thier cars? Jesus... Feel lucky that you aren't having to stitch musical notes in the upholstery or some shit like that... I love that you are letting folks in on the fact that you don't like the guitar placement... and I love the fact that you are covering it. Cole, congrats on that Ford... In my opinion, it's one of the most important customs built in the last 50 years. I love it.
Brandon is my hero! But dont tell him, I am waiting till I too can have a full chest evil knevil tatoo. The car looks GREAT!!!!!
Earlier the car looked too nice to paint, and now it looks too nice to upholster. Seeing that guitar storage area gave me a great idea. I'm going to have you form a panel for my trunk with recesses in it to store some of my dog's toys and my favorite hair care products. Dave http://www.roadsters.com/
That is truly an exceptionally beautiful car! The paint in itself is amazingly deep. I can't wait to see it done and hopefully at Paso this year.....the guitar thing reminds me of the Gyno who has a pool shaped like a vagina. Course it is Bakersfield and anything goes. xxx Brandy
Thanks Cole for posting the 36 updates. It's one of my all time favorites (36 3-W's in general). Been following the build ever since they mentioned it in R & C mag a while back. Looking forward to it's completion.
