Does anyone have a good contact for Salt City Speed Shop out of Layton Utah? I’ve tried several methods without success. Their web page, Facebook Page and Instagram are all still up but no recent activity.

Here is what I’ve tried so far.

Phone # from their web page (385) 777-1934 goes direct to Verizon as incorrect.

Message through their web page, no response.

    Facebook Messenger, no response

    Instagram Messager, no response.

Gotta figure if you can't reach them to buy stuff, you don't want to send money.

I still see them referenced by various builders on IG Reels so they must still be at it in some capacity

I find the same thing with Chris at Salt Flats Speed Shop, Tremonton UT. 801-787-2299. His website is up but seems to have gone cold? A talented, creative tin bender. Hope he's still there but you never know.

I believe you're talking about the Elmer brothers shop in Layton. I know their cars say Salt City Speed Shop on them. I was there last week and they're still going strong. They did however, just lose their office manager that ran the internet stuff so that's probably why you can't get through. I can get you contact info tomorrow if you're interested.

Kris Elmer (loudpedal) of Salt City Speed Shop is here on the HAMB.
Here's a link to his profile page:

If you look at his last post back on 5/13/23 it said and I quote:
"We are "reorganizing" the ownership of SCSS at the current time. We have stopped all work until it's sorted out."

    You could try a pm.

Yeah, sorry. I forgot to delete that from my post. I guess I'd still try to assess what's happening before I'd engage in an undertaking with them. Seems like it promises to be a lengthy process.

Salt City Speed Shop has resumed all public business. Telephone, website, email and social media are all running.

I thought that Chris Elmer now works for
Kindig designs. Maybe I'm mixed up.

I started Salt City Speed Shop in 2003. It was a part-time (after work) gig. I did work for Dave Kindig for 8 years. In 2018 I quit Dave's shop and went full time at Salt City with my Dad, Brother Tim, and one employee.
