I am pretty sure he is banned.
I talked to Tim McMaster on the phone and the problem with Thomas's new engine was easily rectified, Tim sent him a new rocker arm to replace a broken one and a new pushrod and he is back in business and rolling along. As to his health issues, I'm not sure.

I found this online dated last month....

    Thomas Weller,
the self-styled “Highwayman” who has received law enforcement kudos for rescuing stranded motorists, is hanging up his jumper cables and lug wrench and calling it quits.

For more than 50 years, the retired El Cajon mechanic has been patrolling San Diego County highways looking for drivers in distress.

He offers gas, resuscitates dead batteries, changes flat tires, tweaks motors and, if all else fails, gives occupants a lift.

Weller has never accepted payment for his thousands of rescues. He merely handed drivers a calling card which urged them to pay the favor forward by helping someone else.

In mid-March, Weller’s freeway forays in his vintage white Mercury ambulance came to a halt.

He was sidelined by a stroke. It was minor, he reports, but left him with partial paralysis in his left foot and hand.

It followed the February p***ing of his faithful companion, a rescue dog named Shela, who rode shotgun with him for 15 years — a double whammy.

“Unfortunately, I'm done as the San Diego Highwayman,” Weller told me. “I can't, in good conscience, put others at risk by being less than full capacity on the road.”

There is a positive side, though — he’ll take a long-postponed vacation with his wife. “I’m done patrolling, but I hope I'm never so jaded that I'd p*** by someone needing help in the course of my day-to-day travels, especially women with children alone by the wayside,” Weller says.

I find it very hard to believe he was banned without just cause.
It's hard to take a side without knowing the full story, but I have to lean towards the Mods in this kind of stuff.
They are able to see a lot more going on than we get to see as posts etc get cleaned up and comments deleted for various reasons.

I'm not sure he was actually banned, he was admonished by the host after posting pictures of his fence repair &c, or around that time anyway, and given a "time out". Maybe he pushed it after that, I dunno.

Many things entered into this. I Will Not go any further. I know "inquiring minds" want to know more, but this is probably better left alone.

He wasn't banned for telling stories – that's asinine. He was actually given a hell of a lot of la***ude in that regard. Some might even say too much. (and some did)

And I'm not going to pretend to know his motivations for being here, but when he was tactfully asked about it he certainly didn't take it well.

In all seriousness: If you like that sort of thing then I suggest looking him up on facebook.
