Who had the link to that crazy, blow your**** up, backyard sand casting web site? I know a guy wanting to give it a shot and his HOT wife just took out a big insurance policy on him. Thanks, JH
Hahahahaha. What a good friend you are! Here buddy, knock youself out. What? Dangerous? Noooo, it's really safe, dude that's just lawyer speak. Just throw caution to the wind and cast some stuff - I'll just be standing over here....with your wife. I tried looking for it with different searches a while back but never found the funny guy again. I laugh every time someone mentions casting because I think about that goofy******** melting down "mags" and lawnchairs in his mom's BBQ grill.
Harrison, I built a home foundry setup and it's a LOT of fun. I have some pics of my 50$ propane fueled furnace AND our main source of 356 alloy aluminium: a half dozen MAG WHEELS I bought from an auto parts bankrupcy (it was a display with ONE mag each...) Definitely try this at home! Whizzerick's casting adventures This website is great: Foundry 101 This one on building a furnace: Furnace Ray's page, VERY informative: Ray's Hope this helps, whizzerick
I have a great how-to book called the Compleate Metalsmith by Tim McCreight. It got all sorts of good advice for moldmaking and casting. Click here for Amazon.com's listing.
