My wife booked us at the holiday inn. Nice place very clean rooms! We already booked for next year, We were given a higher rate than we had this year, but we were told if we waited until after january the rates will be higher than what we got if we booked now. Lots of nice cars, good food (kids eat free!) great people to chat with.

I STAYED @ THE VILLA TOO.THE ROOM WE GOT WAS A DUMP..BUT ATMOSPHERE WAS GREAT EVERYBODY JUST HANGING OUT AND DRIKING..I OVER HEARD GROUCHO COMPLAINT ABOUT SOME EGGROLLS FROM THE NIGHT B4.

  4. Yeah, overall, the place was good enough for a 1st time. I really didn't want to be miles away. It would've been no better for me than getting a room in Burbank and commuting all over:D

  5. The eggrolls were actually really good. My buddy tried to poison me with some 160 Proof **** that went down like a book of lit matches. So, I joked the eggrolls made me throw up:D. I drink a half of water gl*** of JD at a time. So, when I tell you that other **** was ****ed, trust that. Oh yeah, then dude appologizes and gives me some 20 yr old mystery **** that he claimed will go down like water and make up for the attempt on my life. THAT went down like a lit safety flare:mad:

So how does the Santa Maria Inn compare to the Paso Robles Inn?

  8. I stayed at the Comfort Inn, it is on the other side of the freeway, but only a few miles drive from the SM Inn, and the fairgrounds.

It was clean, and reasonable. IHOP next door, Jack in the Box or BK next to that, Starbucks within walking distance, at the corner.

We took a cab with 6 of us in it to the bowling alley party for 10 bucks.

Get a ground floor room if you want to put chairs out and party. No h***les, but nobody was out of hand.

Microwaves and refrigerators in the room makes it easy to eat on the cheap, free breakfast too.

Ample parking, and alot of side street parking for tow vehicles or friends.

They did not give us any grief for putting a few friends up on the floor, as they did not have a room.

We all booked for next year, and they said they are getting full already.

Take it from a guy that lives here. Anything north of MAIN ST (except the Holiday Inn and the Best Western) is pretty sketchy. If you can, book most anything on SOUTH Broadway. Any questions of nastiness, please PM me and I will check it out and give you my opinion. Santa Maria isn't the ****hole everybody may think it is. It is just like any town, you have the good and the BAD.
