Man those headers flow great from about any angel. I think my favorite version is when it turned red with two fours. Good example of how fine the line is between too much is just enough and too much is too much
I hope it gets found too! I like the upswept pipes infront of the back wheels, unique & very suitable!
Anyone have a picture of the canted quad headlight version? Awe hell I missed in in Ryan’s post…. I’m a dumb***.
Wayne is still around and built a much milder tribute to this car several years ago. He still has a gleam in his eyes, ***uredly because of cars and not due to mental issues! The old man still lives on the property where the magazine car was built.
The blue rendition looks like.it was trying to not only return but be relevant to that time. Tunnel ram, slot wheels, Goodyear polyglas tires. This car is a history lesson in the show rod world if you don't fall asleep in cl***...
Looking at the last known version, if my magazine memory is correct it appeared at Peoria at the first Street Rod Nationals. Maybe someone who attended knows more....
From our "Vintage shots from days gone by" thread. The one I posted above didn't make it through the upload process it seems.
Cool little rod, that I’ve never seen before; I like. I think maybe there was a typo. I think this guy meant he was a fan of Santa not Satan.
Gotta wonder if the crank and rods are chrome too….. I like the first version and the version Bandit Billy posted above, with the mods but simpler paint. Like a lot of guys who participated in the car show circuit, it looks like he kinda went all Jim Skonzakes on it to keep it scoring show points. And like Norm Grabowski’s T, the end result was painful to look at. Still, it’s an interesting car that do***ents the era.
That’s not the typical style I lean towards. But man, there’s just something about that panel painted 6x2 intake version that keeps drawing me back for another look.
