A toolmaker friend (of Polish heritage) of mine at GM had a son that studied the Egyptian language and history extensively. In fact he went to Egypt for further studies and as a result I got this from his dad.
The vehicles are shipped CKD, but they do more than mere assembly. Some welding and manufacturing of components is done in house.
Here is a sampling of the brochure-

Wow, the that valve-cover art gives me lots of cool ideas. Kudos to the artist. Swap meet, swap meet, swap meet.

    Hello,

Local South OC city councils have joined in the fray of classy local art work in the whole city areas to showcase the theme of the city. In Laguna Beach, that is an artist’s town, with its rich history in art and art festivals. Other So Cal cities are now joining in on the notoriety of great artwork to showcase the city's diversity in cultural things.

In San Clemente, as in plenty of cities across the nation, are giant traffic corner silver/gray boxes that control the lights, timing, pedestrian signals and other emergency things for that particular intersection. They cost at least $100,000 dollars each. When the door is open, inside is a myriad of wires, blinking red lights and a complete computer board with plenty of external connections. It is an odd place to put the boxes, right on a corner or steps away from the traffic lights, but that is the design. They are needed to control the 1000+ intersection lights of any city.

Insurance companies hate them, as they pay out after an intersection crash and happens due to the fact that they are so close to the fast moving and turning, daily traffic. It is like a silver/grey target sitting on a corner, waiting for an accident to happen.

But, to make the community participate in showing art displays and sprucing up the dull silver/grey boxes, cities have allowed with some restrictions, local artwork to be painted on those large boxes. San Clemente is one of those cities rich with murals all over the city.

One of the nicest paintings greets travelers and locals when exiting one of the main offramps from the Southbound I-5 freeway in South Orange County. The offramp entrance to the downtown portion of the city needs a drastic update. But for now, the funky off ramp will lead you to this jewel of artwork on the computer box. It is located just past the Pico off ramp and the Outlets roadway.

There is a new gas station on the corner. If you make a right turn off of the freeway off ramp, immediately turn left at the stop light, you might drive right by without seeing it.

Stroker McGurk is a cartoon character created by Tom Medley, featured in Hot Rod and Rod & Custom. Medley's famed creation debuted in the third issue of Hot Rod, and continued in the magazine until 1955. He would reappear briefly in 1964 and 1965, and occasionally in Rod & Custom in the 1980s. Wikipedia
I remember his "car-toon" My Dad bought Hot Rod magazine I read/enjoyed the pictures from the beginning, funny thing, my friends were stealing their Dad's girly books, I was looking at car magazines, at one time I subscribed to 10 car magazines and 2 racing newspapers. Now all gone, I read one on the internet, a buddy gives me his NSRA/GoodGuys magazines, follow racing on the net and YouTube, Different Times.
