save a Caddy from the crusher

My cousin ran across this car. It is at his tow yard in Anaheim California. he says it's got about a week before it goes to the crusher. of course they got a lein on it, but i have gotten cars off him for as little as $500. The body is in great shape, all the glass is there, it has a 350/350 conversion with a tranny and block already in it. it has everything but the front bumper, grill and front seat. I got a few pix I can e-mail you... just PM me if you are interested and I'll get you hooked up with him.

 

Mite help to know what year, body style, etc...

Looks to be a '55 or a '56...too bad it's in Cali and I'm in ColoRODo...it'd be a shame that has to go to the crusher...

What's the going rate per pound for scrap iron these days?
In other words, in what form is the car worth more to the tow yard?
together, or crushed?
If it's only worth $50 crushed and he wants $500 for it before he carries out the death sentence makes me think he probably isn't going to crush it for quite a while... unless it's already had the title filed as salvage/junk.
But then some people don't know or care what it could be worth, but a cousin's been learned right?

oh yeah he knows all about hooking up the car junkies, but the owners see all the cars as shit until someone wants them then they see gold. From what he told me it's been there for a while so the owner wants it gone since it takes up the space of 2 Hondas. Even my cousin has to pay $500-$600 to take a car out of there. so I am sure it would be right around the $500.00 mark.

Those hubcaps are '56 and the emblem on the fender is in the right place for a '56. Damn I wish I could make the time to go to CA. I miss my old '56.
