Moving steady on the roadster. I was originally going to solid mount the motor and ****** (700r4), but at the last minute wanted to explore my options. Looked for rubber mounts for my 55 322 and nothing local. Even had a guy laugh when I told him what I was looking for. Found them mail order for $30 each + shipping and at least a week. Then took off my homemade mounting plate and laid it on a rubber trans mount and it lined up. Sort of... but really close and very easily adapted. The holes were off less than 1/4" center to center. Slot the mount and go with it. I am making the lower frame mounts to fit.

Thought it was interesting and worth a try. They may not last as long, but cannot find out with out trying it. So we will soon see.

Is there an adapter for the 700r4? I have a chance to pick up a 322 and looking to do something other than a SBC.

Doesn't Terrill machine still carry the mounts? I thought they were out of Texas. I can't remember, I bought my set 15 yrs ago.

    Here's why I haven't bought my buddy's 401 to go with my 700R4 :( (from Bendsten's):

Nailhead to Chev Auto or Manual*
    53-56 264, 322 $ 675.00
    57-63 364, 401 $ 850.00
    64-66 401, 425 $ 675.00

  8. Why not use the stock Buick ******? It's a TH400 on the inside, easy to find and cheap to rebuild.

You are right for the 401 engine. The 322 has a larger bellhousing and won't work.

And dynaflows=thepoop. I'm going to have to make an adapter plate to run a 4 or 5 speed (when I find one). Can't afford the Bendsten's prices :(

What manifold/carb are you running (if you don't mind my curiosity)
