If I was keeping it. And believe me, I'm tempted. I'd run a chrome banjo rear, flip the bells so the perch is forward. And run spring in front of the axle. Use the frame it came with. It is a 2x3 1/2 square tube ch***is with a 8 or 10 inch rear step. It has a round tube front crossmember. So suicide front perch. What ever engine tickles your fancy and repaint it the same color. White interior with a matching cover over the bed. Tank and battery in the bed. Chrome everything I can. And call it done.

Dammit Matt. Stop it and leave something for me to find when I get back.

Trade you a '28 Model A pickup cap for it... ;)

You have no idea. Looks like there's gonna be a big purge when I get home. And it's not just the wife's idea, there's a lot of changes in store for my little world...

Besides, if you get any more old s**** metal, you're right there with me.

    Still though, wanna trade?

  7. Damn Hitch! Where do you find all this? You must have a magnetic nose or something.
Or, I need to get out more.:(

Pretty rough diamond you found there.

  9. Haha, sold to the man with too much free space in his Wisconsin barn.

There's never too much space in my barn, but I do have room for this!

I'm constantly hunting. finally getting to the point where the stuff finds me.

Have you ever seen a raw diamond? most of the value in a jewelry grade diamond(or any gem stone for that matter) is in the cut and polish. Thus the phrase "diamond in the ruff" meaning you gotta polish the **** out of it for it to be shiny diamond. But thanks for pointing out the obvious.

It's small and easy to store too.

Yes its ruff, but such a neat start to a rod. I can see it on Model A rails with my '57 325 Dodge in front of the firewall. Would have to be done up in late 50's / early 60's style and then enjoyed! I shouldn't open threads like this. -Dave

To those who are worried about it, here's the plan for this rig. Banjo rear end, T-5 transmission, flathead engine with Canadian cheater heads, V8-60 front axle. Going back and forth between artillery wheels, and plain steelies with caps and rings. Dash full of S/W wing guages, tuck and roll upholstery, and tonneau cover in the back.

I told you I already had this thing built in my head. :)

I want it, but I also want all the **** I already have. But this has a TON of potential...
136.jpg From Pat Ganahls book "Hot Rod Gallery" I have an article on this car in a magazine after it was switched over to an Olds, but I cant find it right now.

I want to keep all the **** I already have, too. That's why the wife doesn't know about this one yet. :)

Well, the cat's out of the bag. The wife knows about my purchase...and I'm still married. But she says she's getting a horse! The roadster pickup is in the garage, and I just got home with the 1919 Dodge Brothers frame that my club brother's brother-in-law had just sitting behind his body shop. Winning!

It took me a minute. In the picture, it looks like the frame is balancing on top of the windshield stanchions. :D Good score!

That's one of the best photos I've ever seen posted on the HAMB.

Good to see it in a good home. Looking forward to great things for this lil' roadster.
