    32 paint.jpg Hello

It's been quite a while since I posted . Time to bring everyone up to speed on some of the things happening to the coupe.

Lets' rewind back to last September, when I made a run at painting the car.

Here is a shot as the base coat flashed. Everything was going well until I began laying on the clear.

At that point I had a major spray gun failure and had to abort .

097.JPG here's what the clear looked like. The gun was aerosolizing the paint internally due to a broken part, the pattern was not controllable and i had no back up when this happened.

The result was a need to prepare the car all over again .

Are you going to run shoulder belts? Was thinking of doing something similar in my A coupe

The entire car was wet sanded with 500. A few issues were uncovered and fixed during the process

That's a beautiful color and seeing this confirms my prior decision to paint my RPU Washington blue

Thanks! Glad it has been an inspiration.

The paint has been shear frustration on my end

I let the car sit for 6 months after the issue with the first paint job.

It's nice finally seeing this thing come together.

Yes I am. What was fun to begin with, became stressful with the issues I was having. Some self induced others not of my doing.

Almost hate to admit it but I stopped on this thing 3 times in the past 3 years. These were pauses of 6 month or more .

Since the end of March , I've been working every night and weekend now. An appointment with Doug's Auto Trim for the interior created a deadline for me that I had to adhere too! More on that as I continue to post updates

    Thanks Mike

    Very nice
Washington Blue and Wimbledon White for the firewall. My exact recipe for my 26 RPU.
If I had a 32 5 window it would be the same. :)
I already have my wheels powder coated in the Wimbledon White and my Excelsiors are mounted.

I am partial to Washington Blue as well and the Wimbledon white wheels and firewall just make the blue pop!

Looks more like a bad ass hot rod, instead of just a car.
