I have finish all the metal work on the body and fenders and have it all in primer. Look back at my last post, Saving a 34 3 window to see the metal work. I wanted to keep my car as a fiftys style car. I am running a blowen flathead, 39 trans with lincoln nos 26 tooth gears. I am using a quickchange rear. Brakes are lincoln. 56 pickup steering box. I started the ch***is by pulling apart the 50 mercury flathead and sent it out to be cleaned, pressure tested and check for cracks. It came back clean and it p*** all tests. I ground all the casting from the outside and inside the block. I relevied the block with a full relieif and ported and polished both the intake and exhaust runners. Drilled the lifter bosses for the adjustable lifters. Then it went back to the machine shop to get bored and balanced and checked for line bore. While the block was getting worked on the second time. I started to do all of the polishing on the blower, heads, intake for the blower and the intake for the carbs. What a dirty job. Will post again as I move along on the ch***is.
it may be a dirty job, but you're certainly doing AWESOME job at it, look forward to seeing more. Cheers, Drewfus
