Go get it. Think Big... If ya think ya need a 20 Ton Wrecker get a 40 ton crane. Make it EZ on your self
I'm in Spokane (Trent and McDonald), and would be willing to lend a hand for the "cause". pm me details and info when you get a solid time frame in mind? Ken
Having done a few of this type of recovery, your best advice was given by flatford39...He knows what he is talking about....
I remember some of the ones we dragged up...the unfortunate thing was, they were in pretty good shape for being down the embankment...however by the time they had been dragged up by the wrecker, there was almost no salvage left.. I agree the crane would be the best option, that or some sort of industrial helicopter!lol
GO GET IT!!! Don't listen to the Naysayers on here bitch and complain it is not worth it or too much trouble. Let them go back to dusting thier Street Rods and chasing trophys at the local car show and leave the adventures to real rodders. If I were closer I would love to help and be a part of the adventure. BTW: The split front bench seat is worth about $500-$700 these days. I just saw nicer one a swap meet sell for that.
Find you a house mover in the area with a good winch truck- they'd have a little better experience winching stuff. I'd offer to bring my truck up, but it's a little too much of a drive for me....
Well I was supposed to go get it anytime now. As I got closer to getting something worked out, the guy that was overseeing the whole operation starting acting real strange. I'd say something about pulling it up the hill with a winch and he'd reply "you can't go up there by yourself. If you do my friend will never let you back on the property again" or he'd say something about its too far over the hill to be worth it. I never said I was going to go on the property without permission. There was also some other car parts I was looking to buy off of him. One reply about hiring a wrecking service to pull the car up for me, let him to say, "all those other car parts will cost you more than a wrecker". Once again, I never said anything about wanting anything free. I don't know what to think. My last email to him was saying " I don't know what I said or did to upset you so much but I'm sorry. I will look elsewhere for a car" I honestly don't think he was trying to screw me out of getting it. I think he just got all wierd about it. I dunno. I am still trying to find an affordable 57. I don't really care what conditon, as long as its a 2 door hardtop. I gotta start somewhere and don't have alot of money. I'm not afraid of work though.
