Here is another rough******** we are going to start fixing. Not for the faint of heart, at all. Pictures say it all. But hey its a 3 window. We all know the difference between these and the glass cars...............the rust. Let me know what you think. I will have an update on the 55 Chevy Post Gasser soon also. http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee53/happydream67/SD532934.jpg http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee53/happydream67/SD532935.jpg http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee53/happydream67/SD532945.jpg http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee53/happydream67/SD532946.jpg http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee53/happydream67/SD532947.jpg http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee53/happydream67/SD532948.jpg http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee53/happydream67/SD532951.jpg http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee53/happydream67/SD532950.jpg http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee53/happydream67/SD532949.jpg But we have everything to fix it: cherry original frame, all original henry sheet metal except for repop gas tank cover, metal garnish moldings, patch panels, donor cowl & firewall, perfect 2 door sedan door if needed. She's destin for a 327 and 4 speed. Keep you posted as it comes.
That's not nearly as bad as i expected when i first read your post.. In fact, it look's like a great start to me! It's better than both my 32 5 window body's by a long shot! Congrats can't wait to see it come back to life. Tony
Well my dad's had the body for about 4 years (I think, give or take a year). If anyone ever goes to NSRA events it was at the Nationals in Louisville (2004 I think). The guy had it on display in the vendor building. He sold glass bodies and his selling point was you could spend a***** load of money fixing a rough car like this or buy a slick glass car. I'm sure she came out of a junkyard somewhere but my old man was happy to get her. This is the second 3 window he has owned, the first never got fixed. He sold it before I was born. It was a 3 window with a 5 window bottom someone grafted on to it to fix it. It still sitting but you can't buy it. I'm laying like a snake in the grass for it.
I remember that one...cool to see it, I always wondered what became of it... post pics as you work on it
Heres a couple of pics after she's roughed in. Will be getting a motor soon. More pics later. Yes it is the same car.
My old man's got some on his camera, I think? I'll try to take some more soon of what she looks like know. I'll put it to you this way. The only thing on the car you see know that came with the yellow body is the doors, back 3/4 of roof, and quarters. Everything else was replaced for the most part.
Not for the faint of heart? It looks like a pretty solid body to me...'specially compared to the junk 5 window body I'm working with now. Great start...nice progress.
