Very interesting. Wonder why they are not picked clean.Seems that these were not that old when placed there and someone must of know about it. Everything around here that is in the woods is picked clean in only a few years. Lots of old iron here but not much parts to get.

A guy I worked with bought some property along a creek and it had some cars in it he wanted pulled out, unfortunately the bodys had rotted off and all that was left was the frames and I had no equipment that could pull them out. On the property next door I found more cars but they had no drivetrain and looked to have been gotten from a junkyard before they went in the creek. In the main creek what looked to have been the frame of a early 40s Dodge cab over but it was the only frame that still had the drivetrain in it and thats how I identfied it.

LOL...I agree with that being from WI originally, now when I see a car at work with rust under it, I'm like WTF!

Great pics! I love seeing old cars "in the wild", there is a suprising amount of usable parts, and maybe even some usable cars there.

several years ago we heard of a lake that was being drained and there were cars in the lake. Went there and now I know where all the 49,50,and 51 Mercurys went. Must have 6 or 8, 2 doors. Only 1 30s A model, no 32, 33, or 34s noted. 1 early suburban that the wood floor was still intact. Most were beyond saving parts except stainless trim because of rust.

Don't know why lake was drained or if the cars were removed.

On a sad note, two cars were recently removed from an Oklahoma lake that had been there for about 40 or so years and the bodies of 6 people were recovered.
