Have some respect. These are not "**** ****ers", they are turd he****s! :D Seriously though, I've got an uncle who has become a wealthy man since starting out in this business back in the mid 60s.

i rebuilt a airport tug,had a straight 6 ford in it and a c-4. it had a winters cheetah shifter with a block out plate allowing only reverse, neutral and reverse with a reverse valve body. the replacement carb had no governor . i found out later that the shifter plate got removed and they got caught running up and down the runnway with it running like 70 mph. i got sent out the next day to retro fit the governor.

A pair of flathead Mopar sixes were used to set the arresting gear on the runway at Naval Air Station - Glenview until base closure in 1995.
I had to use them a lot; for some reason it was the fire department's responsibility to set the gear! At least they started right up every time, even in January ice & snow at 2am...

  4. A local s**** yard used to have an old tank with a pump powered by some sort of V4 flat head engine, (a true flat head, not like the little over head V4's in the little 60's English Ford's). I always suspected it was the remains of a sewage truck. I never saw one like it before or since. Thought it would be cool to power one of those 1/3rd scale T-Buckets like usually have a Briggs lawn mower engine in em.

i believe that its wrong to leave an engine all shined up, going nowhere in a garage. an engine is born and happy to work-- its not a trophy. that's why i drive my "old iron" everyday-- rain or shine.
