I went to a local reseller of The Rodders Journal (John's R & C for the skips out there) and saw the latest issue. I'm real keen to get it as there's that bitchin Improved A pickup with a stovebolt mill in it. Now I've been a subscriber ever since, and I can't help to feel pissed that the distributors get there issues up to 2 months before us subscribers. I thought we were the backbone of the magazine industry, maybe I'm wrong. If its not for the fact that its a great quality book, I'd have let the subscription go long ago. Maybe I should buy one from the dealer and wait to keep the subscription copy in its sleeve. Now thats my bitch for this month, can't wait for next month to come for another riveting topic. I await with baited breath.
gotta agree with you on both.. RJ always kicks ass.. and it really burns my ass when i see a magazine on the racks that i subscribe to and havent gotten yet.. later..
Stovebolt I couldnt agree with you more. I have brought up this issue several times on here (in a trj posts) and there is no way they dont know about it. I have even complained to them directly and been ignored. TRJ are you reading this? Do any of you got the guts to reply? and were is my T shirt, for the third time. I need a clean shop rag.
I still want to know what ever happened to the 50 years of R&C book. . . did anyone get it yet? I PAID over a year ago.

296 I too have brought it up with them via email. I suggested that they include the OS subcribers' copies with the issues they send to the international dealers, and get them to send them out to subscribers, and deduct the cost of postage from the dealer's account. Not a bad idea - just been ignored though. Bummer
I've never subscribed but get mine at our WORLD FAMOUS hot rod shop Frank's Antique in Birch Run, MI. He gets copies with both covers so I get one of each. I read the cover that's not cool (there is no such thing) and keep the most interesting cover unread as an investment for my retirement. Frank
Couldn't agree with you more, Stovebolt. Been a subscriber for years, yet it takes forever to get the current issue. I guess I'll have to wait for the snow to fly before I get mine. Geoff are you reading this?? I filled out your questionaire and I guess you guys out west don't get the hint!!!
I always wondered the same thing !!!! I guess that way we will buy 2 but 1 is a little cheaper but you get it latter !!
Praise, you need to contact them. I ordered 50years of R&C in Nov.2003 and finally got it in Sept.2004 out here on the east coast. I,too ,saw it in a book store before I got my book. It was worth the wait, though. What a great book.AND I got a free T shirt for being patient(what else was I gonna do ???)
I too have subscribed from the beginning and always see it elsewhere before I recieve my issue. I am not pissed about it,,,,but would like to me informed as to why the loyal subscriber is the last to recieve their copy. HRP
