Herd a rumor today at a car show that BP is now a goodguy show I qickly infomed him that was not the case and BP dude just has a job with them. Was I mistaken? Did I miss some thing here? Dude you didnt sell your show to the greedy guys did ya?
FUCK NO I DIDN'T SELL BILLETPROOF TO GOODGUYS!! I have no idea where this fucked up rumor came from. Jealous shitheads I guess. I have had to respond to this a hundred times in the last few months. You are one of the few who was actually cool enough to ask me yourself instead of just spreading shit. Yes I have a job with Goodguys. I made a giant announcement on here when I took the job. The idea is to bring the part of the hobby that we love into their show. Making more stuff for us to do and to gain some well deserved respect. There are those who want to feel like they are rebels and want to stay that way, so they talk shit. For some reason 24 bitchin cars in a parking lot is better than 600 bitchin cars. I don't get the logic. Rebels? I think the high dollar guys are rebels in a bad way. We are following tradition. To me that makes us the conformists, in a good way. As a group we have made some improvements upon the past but don't go so far as to fuck it up like many of the goldchainer crowd who have to have the latest modern crap on their car regardless of how lame it makes it. Anyway this is an old rant. The bottom line is that Billetproof is an independent entity and is run and owned be me and Moochie (of the Swanx). The shows success is due to the volunteers who have helped out like the Poor Boys (No-Cal and Detroit), The Vultures and now the awesome SWANX! The most important element in the shows success is the participants. We have had so many incredible people and vehicles grace the grounds of the show that there are not enough thanks or praise to show my appreciation. The crappy downside is the politics, both personal and about the show. I guess it goes with the territory. Anyway, thanks for asking instead of continuing the bullshit!
first off thanks kirk and moochie for a great show !!! the traditional car and low buck rod is mainstream alot of the gold chainers are going for the look and prices are over the top this weekend i saw a nice but rusty 34 commerial shell priced at $500 one guy bought a 34 front end for $80 rolled across from the guy he bought it from and put a huge sign on it $450 that was cold blooded he shouted over to his neighbor the guy he bought it from its not greed its good business sometimes this car stuff is dirty business i cant say i dont try and make a buck but after seeing that i look forward to spending a nice weekend at paso or billetproof thanks for making it fun kirk
[ QUOTE ] when ya havin a BP show in so cal? or do ya just hate us? [/ QUOTE ] Ah, I love So-Cal. That's where I grew up. We've talked about doing one down there for a while. It's tough enough putting together a show in our own backyard. Detroit is the test. If all goes well we'll be looking at more locations.
[ QUOTE ] first off thanks kirk and moochie for a great show !!! [/ QUOTE ] Thanks! But like I said it's the hot rodder volunteers and participants that make the show a show. Thanks Flatshoe. I'll keep ya posted.
