Yep ****, a Flathead with a C4 would put a hole new look out there. Even through I'm going to a slush box, I still think it would be great if you put that Flathead with a grinder in your car and have the first one out on the coast.
Hey yeah, I'd forgotten about Gary, he likes the cl*** too. He had a ball at the last Eagle. All he need do is throw some street hides on'er and he's already a proper SDRA car, I bet he would. That'd be two, right up front, when Old28 hits the line. Looks like we may just be in need of an SDRA "Trophy" before next season's over. And when that happens, the two winners at each meet could do one just for the braggin'. Rather like the old "Top Eliminator" slot (wasn't necessarily won by diggers).
Well Racers & Builders it is the 4th of July weekend and as much as I love to talk race cars I think we should all stop and thank all our Service Personnel both Past and Present for all that they have done to make this the greatest place in the world to live. Special thanks to the ones that gave the "Ultimate Sacrifice" for this Country and Your Freedom. "WE Will Never Forget". Only in America could we be planning racing for next year. HAPPY 4TH OF July
Hey, I thought I had the first flattie out here! Well, at least I'm TRYING to have the first one, if I could ever get it out of the machine shop. Have a feeling **** will beat me to it. More power to you ****. The only "first" matters on race day, right?
Well, I have made my decision, Flathead with the Sag 4 speed. Cost to much for all the stuff for the automatic...Alum flywheel, Zoom clutch, Adapter, thats it. Im getting started...
That's the way to go ****. First HA/GR flathead with 4 speed on the coast, reel cool. You better get with it, ANRA Summer Nations will be here soon.
I'm getting kind of a late start to posting on this site, but this looks like a good place to begin. A few of us old time drag racers in Oregon decided to go a little retro and have taken up HAMB HA/DR Dragster style racing. I've placed a post in the General Discussion area: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=607415 that briefly tells a little about our fledgling beginning. You guys here have been a wealth of information and inspiration. I hope we can fit in and hopefully even contribute a little in the future. Thanks - Walt Skoczylas Northwest Vintage Dragsters
More of the HA/GR - SDRA style cars out on the coast, this is a good thing. The only difference in the Northwest cars from the SDRA car is in the tires. They use a very narrow pie crust slick and SDRA tire are the L78-15 6" bias the same one that the HA/GR use, but we can also run a 6" wide radial 15" like Cooper makes. Would love to see the look on Butch's face if the Northwest Vintage Cars, Our local HA/GR and a few SDRA cars all showed up at one of the ANRA races. That would be a great show.
