Pete thanks for putting this up. I have never met a single soul that didn't enjoy being around him. Swap Meet Santa Clause with his flashlight putting his unwanted parts on peoples blankets.. The box of Joe that never went empty.. The barn in Allston which had the smell of old corn pipe and gasoline and when you call to say your coming by he would say " BRING A TRUCK MANG, I got it all!!!" and when you leave there is some unidentifiable part in your front seat. Friends are those you count on one hand and those who you'll remember for the rest of time. A damn fine Hot Rodder, Musician, Artist but above all...Friend. I'll see you in Valhalla soon old friend.
Awful news. . . he once asked if I had a foot fetishsince there were so many "pedal shots" in The Devil at Your Feet. Anytime I watch it, I think of that and laugh. God Speed!
Thanks for posting that Brian. Perfect snapshot of his sense of humor. What a ball buster! Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
After reading all of the posts, my life feels a bit empty having not known him. He sounds like he was a really cool cat.
That statement is so true!!!!! I am wondering why and searching for answers, Its like nightmare. A piece of all of us is gone.
I just grabbed another beer out of the 1950s Frigidaire that he GAVE to me. For "Nuthin". We all just need to "chuck it up a couple thou" and we'll be all right.
Torr and all the Kings of Nuthin guys are all really good friends, it has been a really rough time. He was an awesome guy and the world has lost another creative soul! RIP Torr.
Yeah. Like Flash said. All us GUYS just need to chuck it up a couple thou and everything will be MINT. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Sorry for your loss Pete. He seemed like a real "East Coast Guy" to me. I'll explain that later, in the meantime............................ <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/HUfSwNhJbmU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Sorry for your loss. He must have been a very charismatic and cool person. Also his band is great, did not know them. I hope this is not disrespectful, but he seems to have been not very old, what did he die from?
I wasn't going to say anything about this. You guys were (are) a lot closer to him that I was. Hell, I think I only had one real conversation him. Nads described him as a no-bullshit kind of guy. I've heard others use the word, "Selfless" The more I think about the conversation we had, the clearer these sentiments become. I didn't know he was in a band until this past weekend, let alone a front man. In this day and age where everyone is out to promote themselves, I'm convinced Torr is the only musician, front man or otherwise, you can laugh, bullshit and joke with for over an hour and have no mention of "His" band...or anything like that. More people should be like Torr Skoog. I'm truly sorry for your loss.
Skoog and Eli at the infamous red barn. They're talking about a chassis issue Torr was having with his 36 whilst the body was suspended by chains above him. He's givin' the "why you takin a picture mang" look. Nobody ever tells you that your in the good old days till it's too late. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
