Very sad news. My heart goes out to Torr's close friends and family. I remember Torr from the early Road Agents and Rumblers shows. Bought my first little Magneto mag from Torr at a KON show in NJ back when they ran around in the Schlitz truck. A true hot rodder. RIP Torr
I think the guy on the far right bought parts off me before....thanks for sharing the memories of your friend, I didn't know Torr, but went to school with some Skoog family members in Medford, people I knew well but have not seen for years. It is sad to see someone pass, especially someone so young.
That photo of Torr and Necro leaning on the merc is from the Road Agents show in 2000. And Moose, yeah my roadster looks about the same...but now I can drive it! With a lot of thanks to Torr.
They played the Orlando Rumbler's second show in 2000, they pulled up in their short bus and they were the filthiest bunch of guys I've ever laid eyes upon.
I remember the schlitz truck, anyone got any pics of that? I decided last night after thinking about all of this and the concept of memorializing that i am going to build a hot rod- in his honor. Not sure what yet. May take me a while too. But I will do it as a legacy and honor to him. I've always wanted to but have been diverted for so many reasons from ever doing so. Torr was an incredibly inspiring person and lives on in the lives of so many others. RIP Torr Skoog you were a legend in your own time. I am also making decals in his honor for anyone who wants em- let me know
No pics but a few shots of it in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UyTqZNMWQUM Yes, I would like to get a couple, please.
Haha! Moose that's hilarious!!! But it is burnin' gas on the mean streets of Belmont now! Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
I had a Boston Creme that was 'chucked up a couple thou' into a cupcake. Dang it was good. Also, I was reading through a text conversation I had with Lisa the night of Pete's birthday. She was checking in on Eli and making sure the special cupcakes were being put to good use. In the middle of that conversation, Torr bit into a maple bacon one, exclaimed how delicious it was, and Eli and I both said, "Dude, that has bacon in it!" He seemed horrified for a moment, then just shrugged and popped the rest of it into his mouth with one bite. With his mouth stuffed he said, "it's still pretty fuckin' good."
Talking with my son Sean over the weekend and came up with a little music trivia about Torr. His first band was called Appleseed. Torr, my son Sean and couple other high school friends started it. They did some practising at my old house and garage in chelmsford. He was very good even back then.
I had a nice long chat with necro at a show here in san diego,he was warning me about moving to new York, the guy was dead right about that
George, I had no idea your son and Torr were pals, I just heard about Appleseed from his girlfriend Val a few weeks ago. Pete-
I would love to hear some Appleseed recordings if they exist. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Hey all here's the decal I promised. The guy I had doing it is a well known hot rod and motorcycle painter. It took a while longer because he had a really busy summer. Ill reply to message that I've received with requests for decals. Anyone else want some? They will be 3 1/2 inch diameter decal with UV resistant material. Good for windows, bumpers, quarter tins, bike boxes, fenders, whatever.
That looks great. I know I want some for me and my sons. I will send you a pm later. Thanks George Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
