Yea I’m sure it is. The 53 chevy I used to have was pissed I had a mustang ii front end (from an actual mustang ford not the kit)

Is it a Nova oil pan;)

  5. It is.....4.5 qt is the prescribed amount with that pan. They are used when swapping a sbc into a shoebox ford because of the steering linkage......

Any harm in me having 5 qts in it right now? I notice the motor has a slight tilt back when sitting with the front and rear airbags fully deflated. In this state if I check the dipstick its right at the full mark after having ran it for a minute once I put 5 quarts in. I imagine if I inflate the rear and keep the front low to level the engine better and check the dipstick it may be a little higher than the full mark (perhaps by the 0.5 quarts).

  7. Not at all, in fact better. Nova's came with a short OF due to exhaust routing/clutch linkage. You have a full sized filter, so you are good. Now= you will not get every last drop out of that pan, so don't sweat it. Just don't wait until your oil is pitch black/3 yrs to change it, and you'll be good.
In that full sized filter= fill it up, let it sit a min, then fill it up just below the top......then add the rest= 5 total. Wherever that lands on the DS is your new "full". Your fine with what your doing.......

Thanks for the explanation. So the 5 quarts total lands right at the full line (with front and rear air bags deflated all the way in the cars current stance)
