It's not that early. What about the vinyl leatherette for the seat covers, the wood grained shelf paper for the door panels, the alternator that looks like a generator and seeing as it's a sbc you can't possibly go without the Oldsmobile valve covers. JCWhitney sold plastic quick change housings to glue to your rear end (or the cars). Bonus points. I'm working on something that many of you might want to keep an eye out for, a clutch pedal ***embly that will velcro under the dash and hang down so everyone thinks you've got a stick. Extra bonus points. What's the price? Nineteen twice. $19.19 Mail me some money and I'll put you on the list. Just playing with you, I'm sure American car parts are hard to find over there and expensive when you do. Cheers.
You putting together a very nice slingshot, sbc-huffer, possibly vintage injection etc... do the engine justice and at least put GM double bumpers or something aftermarket that will breath well.
I'd love to do a midyear vette with a 496 faked up to look like a numbers match 427. Maybe swap 2 of the middle digits just to mess with the resto crowd. Correct appearing but just not quite right enough to make em walk away wondering. Could definately use it on a period correct appearing hot rod build, make it a '57 283 fuelie, have some fun with it. I bet the factory stock racers have some tricks as well.
I was actually going to suggest something similar. RTV mold, fill it with epoxy putty, stick it on the end of the head, then stipple it with a stiff bristled brush before the epoxy sets up all the way. I actually added an oil filler tube boss to an intake that didn't have one using the same basic method, except instead of an RTV mold, I put a hole in the intake with a hole saw, used the inside of a toilet paper roll, rolled down to the size of the oil filler tube, and built it up with epoxy.
Thanks, I will sometime get some better heads, but in the mean time I will have to go with what I have. Fingers crossed with a bit of work the ones I have will flow well, they will be good for cutting my track time with.
If you have a "thinner interpretation of the rules" [than the rulemakers originally intended] get hold of Brzezinski Racing They'll make "period correct" heads for you from World Product or Iron Eagle heads https://www.castheads.com/cylinder-heads/cylinder-head-porting-services/disguise-work/
Fake Double Hump heads? Wouldn't it be easier to actually use the real thing. Kind of like putting a potato in your Speedo. Just make sure you put it in the front. Gary
