My M116 went to a guy in Idaho who apparently has a bunch of them. The 116 came out in 1960. A search at the MVPA, (military vehicle preservation association) would bring up some talk about carbs.

  3. The military museum I volunteer at has an M114 that I worked on a lot. The engine was not original but the intake and teapot carb were, and the intake has the ports on the runners. INTAKE.jpg

From Tom Cobb dry lakes thread by Ryan. Can't see side mount, presume it's a '57 block.

That M116 had to be very light armor. What kind of speeds did they get out of them? Our M113 had a lot more power than that and still topped out between 65 and 70 turned all the way up. It was hell on track pads turned up, but we felt safer running the routes.

  8. The M114's were severely underpowered and taken out of Vietnam service in 1962. Not only due to underpowered but hit a land mine in one and they broke in half. They were in use in CONUS into the early 1980's until replaced with the M113.

The M114 was a light armor tank, the M116 was thin skinned aluminum no armor. Sorta like a modern day Studebaker weasel
