    I seem to be missing the intent of your replies.

    What are your referring to about less friction?

    Thanks for your efforts borntosortitout, I've just started playing with roller blocks, Vortec so all fine with them.
    Also have a late 80's 305 1 piece rear seal. It has flat tappet lifter bore type casting plus it has the three raised bosses for the spider, not machined on top.
     
  5. The only problem I had with converting the 1987 305 to roller was the stepped lifter bores. If your lifter bores aren't stepped, you should be able to add all the factory roller components. Just a reminder, I changed my HEI distributor gear to a GM "melonized" gear to guarantee compatibility with the roller cam.
