Ain't a chance that they are some of those pro comp or some*****? He sent me the picture and asked me if I knew what they are, I thought "shit, this is easy". Nothing online.

All Chevy head castings have the date code right under the casting number don't they?

Maybe get a pic of the front of the head, see if it has any casting marks that might show a clue.

I asked him if he can get more pictures of them. He's looking at them to possibly buy, but the guy told him that it's the only marking on them

It's non necessarily near the casting number. But a Chevy date code starts with a letter for the month, then one or two numbers for the date, then one or two numbers for the year.

So we can agree that this is a cheap aftermarket head then? The big names all mark their heads don't they?

I told him that you guys said they were experimental heads, and only 3 sets were ever cast. But he had to verify that they have an X in the lifter valley next to the exhaust crossover. The 24 means it has 200cc runners and the 4 means they are 400hp factory castings. The ES was for Erving and Stallings that designed the head :D but when I realized he was falling for my line of*****, I told him I was lying and nobody knows what they are :):p
