My 20+ year old single point distributer finally quit on me so I bought a new small cap HEI. My question is how do I hook up the electrical wires to it? My present setup uses an MSD coil and a ballast resistor. The instructions that came with the new dizzy ***umed it was to replace an existing HEI so is no help. Thanks for any help, electricals are not my stong point.

Do you have an old "clunky" HEI laying around??? When I did a similar conversion I used an old one as a "schematic". BTW toss the ballast resistor - your not gonna need it anymore.
Also - didn't the NEW dizzy come with any instructions??

EDIT: - check this pic against a stocker to verify it's right before trying it .

Some of the new small cap dist. do not have the internal coil like the large cap GM's do. You'll have to run a coil. Then hook it up the same way the old points was. just run you a 12 ga. positive from the ign.
