EDIT, my first post was harsh... if you start out a mopar guy, you don't have a 50 year rod tradition to follow, and appreciate mopar engines (they DO have history). You tend to want to keep stuff all mopar. If you come in wanting a trad rod and can't afford a deuce or model 40 and find a Mopar body, I can see wanting to swap in the common 50s motor (SBC). It's just different paths to how we all got here. If you are out there building something and having a good time, great. I just prefer shoving in a mopar if it's reasonable, and the article shows how it can be done.
