W***a matter with a Y block? They bolt in you dont have to move anything. It all fits like it was meant to be there. I know where there is one right now that eats 350 Chevys for breakfast.

To clarify: Henry Ford contracted to the Dodge Bros to build engines for him to Ford design and specs, not Dodge. He paid them in Ford stock. They later sold out to Ford and started Dodge Bros cars.
Kettering was more research than design. Cole and Duntov had way more to do with the initial SBC. The stud/pedestal stamped rocker design was actually lifted from Pontiac's new OHV V8 design.

The car is looking pretty cool. Is that air bags plus steppping the frame to get it that low? Did you decide on a Ford motor? 351W?

Yeah i have air bags in the front and rear. As far a notch i just did a basic c-notch so i could keep the interior as close to stock as possible. and yeah went with a 351w and an AOD transmission. Thanks for the comments guys!

Earlier you asked about the axel ratio .My I6 with the 3 speed manual has a 4.09 which was perfect for the claimed top speed of 86 mph back in the day.
Really looking forward to hearing about your exhaust choice with the 351w. I've been stuck on 302 because of the chat but would prefer the 351.
